EDINBURG, Texas - (UTPA Media Relations) Down seven late in the first half, the University of Texas-Pan American Broncs women's basketball team went on a 30-8 run to come from behind and beat the Houston Baptist University Huskies 75-72 on Saturday at the UTPA Fieldhouse.

Sophomore Shawnte' Goff led the Broncs in scoring for the seventh time in eight games with a career-high 31 points on 11-of-21 shooting, including 5-of-10 from behind the arc, with five rebounds, one block and four steals. Junior Rickell Preston scored a career-high 15 points on 7-of-13 shooting with seven rebounds.

Cal State Fullerton 66, New Mexico State 51

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - (NMSU Media Relations) The New Mexico State women’s basketball team finished off play at its home tournament, the Hotel Encanto Thanksgiving Classic, on Saturday by falling at the hands of Cal State Fullerton, 66-51, inside the Pan American Center.

The Aggies fall to 0-5 on the season after being outshot by the Titans 45.5 to 29.5 percent from the field. NM State did sink eight 3’s in the game and finished with a 33.3 percentage from beyond the arc.

Western Michigan 73, Chicago State 43

CHICAGO - Falling behind by 32 at halftime, a second half comeback wasn't enough as Chicago State fell at home to Western Michigan, 73-43. Layne Murphy led the way for the Cougars with nine points and seven rebounds in 27 minutes played.

Navy 60, Grand Caynon 51

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - (GCU Media Relations) Grand Canyon junior guard Madison Craig scored a career-high for the second straight day, but it wasn't quite enough for the Lopes in a 60-51 loss to Navy in the Navy Classic at Alumni Hall in Annapolis, Md., Saturday.

Craig scored 13 points. She had 12 on Friday. It was her first back-to-back double-figure scoring games of her career. The Lopes fall to 1-4. Navy, a WNIT team a year ago, improved to 4-3.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - (UMKC Media Relations) Freshmen Kiana Law and Samantha Waldron were each named to the Plaza Lights Classic All-Tournament Team as the duo helped the UMKC women’s basketball team to a 1-1 record in the event, including an 80-55 loss to Abilene Christian on Saturday afternoon at the Swinney Recreation Center.

San Francisco 69, Utah Valley 50

SAN FRANCISCO - (UVU Media Relations) The Utah Valley University women's basketball team dropped a Saturday afternoon contest at San Francisco 69-50, to fall to 3-4 in the young season.  Patrice Toston led the Wolverines with 15 points while the Dons' (6-1) were led by Taylor Proctor with 20 points.

USF used a 20-3 run in the second half to pull away. The spurt lasted over eight minutes with a Toston layup and free throw, accounting for the only Wolverine points over that time.
