DENVER – Utah Valley’s Nicholas Taylor and Scott Moake have been named the Western Athletic Conference men’s track and field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for December 8-14.
Taylor, a junior from Pearland, Texas (Clear Brook HS), is a returning standout Wolverine, and the reigning WAC Champion in the 60m dash after her won the event at the WAC Indoor Championships with a time of 6.84 seconds. Taylor was seeded first in the 200m event at the Jacksons Open and edged out 34 athletes for the title with a time of 21.82 seconds.
Moake, a junior from Orem, Utah (Mountain View HS), broke the Utah Valley School record for the high jump in his first indoor debut of the 2014-2015 season. With a mark of 2.11m, Moake was edged out of first place by attempts only and finished second in the high jump over 12 competitors at the Jacksons Open this weekend.
