Baylor 66, New Mexico State 55Recap | Stats
WACO, Texas – (NM State Media Relations) The non-conference road season came to an unmerciful end Wednesday night as the undermanned New Mexico State Aggies fell to the Big 12’s Baylor Bears 66-55.
The Aggies (4-7), playing without reining WAC Player of the Year Daniel Mullings and preseason All-WAC center Tshilidzi Nephawe due to injuries, hung tough with the Bears (9-1) who are just outside the Top 25 rankings. Turnovers were again NM State’s bane, suffering 19 in the contest against a stifling Baylor defense.
The Bears turned it over nine times, eight in the second half, as NM State closed the gap to eight points with six minutes to play. But the Bears posted a quick 6-0 run and squelched an Aggie comeback attempt.
Remi Barry led the Aggies with 14 points and five rebounds, while Pascal Siakam added 12 points with four boards and four steals.
