BERKELEY, Calif. – (CSUB Media Relations) The CSUB Roadrunners embarked on a 15-0 run after trailing early Sunday at Cal and never let that lead go, leading the Bears by as many as 17 in a 55-52 upset of Cal at Haas Pavilion.
It was the first win for the Roadrunners against a Pac-12 opponent and CSUB’s first win over Cal in three tries as the ‘Runners sent Cal (10-3) to their first loss to an opponent outside the top-25. Cal’s previous losses had come to Texas and most-recently Wisconsin.
Both CSUB and Cal shot an identical 18-of-46 from the field (39 percent). CSUB forced 18 Cal turnovers, scoring 20 points off those turnovers in the victory.
Aly Ahmed recorded his third double-double of the season with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Jaylin Airington added 10 points.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – (UMKC Media Relations) The UMKC men's basketball squad got some big-time performances from Martez Harrison, Thaddeus Smith and Darius Austin on Sunday afternoon, and pulled off a 73-70 double-overtime road victory over Indiana State.
Harrison tallied a career-high 34 points with eight assists, Smith tied a school record with seven blocks and had a career-best 12 rebounds, and Austin had career-bests 15 points and 13 boards.
UMKC held the Sycamores to 28 percent in the second half and 30 percent shooting in overtime, while out-rebounding them by a 45-31 margin on the night. The 45 rebounds matched the most for UMKC in the Richardson era.
The 34 points by Harrison was the most for a UMKC player since Dane Brumagin dropped 35 on February 10, 2007 against Centenary. He became the 11th player in UMKC history to score 30 in two different games, as well. Smith’s seven blocks tied David Robinson, who set the UMKC record in 1991 against Wright State.

PHOENIX – (GCU Media Relations) Behind its hottest shooting night of the season, the Grand Canyon University men's basketball team (8-7) picked up its third straight win with an 83-81 victory over visiting Abilene Christian (6-7).
The Antelopes shot a season-best 61.7 percent (29-for-47), their highest mark since posting a 62.5 field goal percentage in an 84-58 win over Adams State on Dec. 29, 2007 when GCU was a member of NCAA Division II.
The Lopes led by as many as 17 points in the second half before ACU pulled within three, 81-78, with just over 10 seconds on the clock. Sam Daly made two free throws to make it a two possession game and the Wildcats drained a three-pointer at the buzzer as the Lopes held on for the two-point win. The 83 points mark a new season-high for GCU.
GCU had four players score in double figures, led by Joshua Braun's fifth straight double-digit scoring effort at 18 points. DeWayne Russell had 16 points, followed by Daniel Alexander with 15 off the bench and Jerome Garrison with 14 points.
Braun also pulled down a career-best nine rebounds to lead the Lopes on the boards. GCU out-rebounded the Wildcats 32-23 and scored 46 of its points in the paint.
