Seattle U 76, UC Davis 67

SEATTLE – (SU Media Relations) Seattle University was able to control the offense of UC Davis while putting together its own positive offensive output as the Redhawks defeated the Aggies, 76-67, Tuesday night in a men’s collegiate basketball non-conference contest at KeyArena. It was the second consecutive home victory for the Redhawks.

Isiah Umipig shot 11-of-21 from the field, including 7-of-15 from behind the three-point line, and 4-of-6 from the free throw line to compile a season-high total of 33 points, plus he collected four rebounds, six assists and three steals. Jarell Flora hit four three-pointers as he contributed 15 points and three rebounds, and William Powell earned 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists during the night.

New Mexico State 54, Texas Southern 52

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – (NM State Media Relations) Sophomore Ian Baker slashed to the basket and laid it in with 2.2 seconds remaining in the second half to propel New Mexico State past Texas Southern 54-52 Tuesday evening at the Pan American Center.

Siakam scored a career-high 21 points on 9-of-14 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds. Baker chipped in 11 points and hauled in five boards.

It was a tail of two halves for NM State. In the opening stanza the Aggies struggled to defend Tigers’ offense. TSU shot 50 percent (15-of-30) from the field, however, in the second half the Aggies held the Tigers to 45 percent (9-of-20) from the floor and caused seven turnovers.

The Aggies found success in front of the basket with 24 points in the paint and 32 rebounds.

Utah Valley 83, Bristol 50

OREM, UTAH – (UVU Media Relations) Behind a 20-point night from Mitch Bruneel, Utah Valley University picked up its most lopsided win of the year, 83-50, over Bristol University on Tuesday night at the UCCU Center.

Bruneel was 8-for-13 from the field and also hauled in eight rebounds, with the Wolverines (5-8) holding a decisive 51-25 edge on the glass. Eli Robison grabbed a career-best seven rebounds while Zach Nelson and Chad Ross each pulled down six boards. All 13 players on the active roster saw action in the game. Donte Williams scored 13 while Jaden Jackson added nine and Nelson had eight points.

Harvard 72, Grand Canyon 59

PHOENIX  – (GCU Media Relations) The Grand Canyon University men's basketball team (8-8) dropped a hard fought contest to visiting Harvard (8-3) tonight in front of a sellout crowd (7,412) at GCU Arena. The loss snapped a season-best three-game win streak for the Antelopes.

GCU was led by Daniel Alexander and DeWayne Russell with 15 points apiece, while De'Andre Davis added 13 points. Alexander added a team-high five rebounds.

The Lopes shot 44.2 percent from the floor (23-for-52) and outscored the Crimson 38-32 in the paint. Harvard went 25-for-48 (52.1 percent) in the game, including 60.0 percent (12-for-20) over the final 20 minutes. The Crimson were also aided by six three-pointers and outrebounded the Lopes 38-24.

Canisius 67, Missouri-Kansas City 55

BUFFALO, N.Y. – (UMKC Media Relations) Canisius held off two UMKC runs in the second half, and held the 'Roos to a season-low matching 55 points on Tuesday night at the Koessler Athletic Center for a 67-55 victory.

Martez Harrison was the only player that could get anything going offensively, putting up 23 points, while no other player had more than six.

Duquesne 78, Texas-Pan American 72

PITTSBURGH – (UTPA Media Relations) The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs men's basketball team fell to the Duquesne University Dukes 78-72 on Tuesday night at the A.J. Palumbo Center.
 
Sophomore Jonari Joesaar led all scorers with 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds while dishing out four assists. Junior Shaquille Hines added 20 points and four rebounds.
