WACO, Texas - (UTPA Media Relations) The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs women's basketball team fell to the No. 11 Baylor University Bears 96-42 on Wednesday at the Ferrell Center.

Junior Rickell Preston and sophomore Shawnte' Goff paced the Broncs (6-4) with eight points each. Senior Brittany Bush led way with a game-high 10 rebounds while freshman Stephanie Onyeje added six points with two assists.

Grand Canyon 59, New Orleans 57

PHOENIX - (GCU Media Relations) Courtney Hayes drove, scored and added a free throw with 1:03 remaining to give Grand Canyon the lead and the Antelopes hung on for a 59-57 victory over New Orleans at GCU Arena Wednesday.

New Orleans answered Hayes's three-point play with a Yasmin Taylor putback with 15.9 to go and Antelope sophomore Astrea Reed added one of two free throws for the final margin at the 10.1 mark. The Privateers' Taylor missed a long 3-pointer at the buzzer to end the game.

Hayes scored five of GCU's final six points and led 11 Lopes in the scoring column with 12 points. She also had a team-high six rebounds, a pair of assists and one steal. Off the bench, Reed had nine. Cheyenne Hedrington and Mikaehla Connor each scored seven.

Bakersfield 80, UC Irvine 70

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - (CSUB Media Relations) Tyonna Outland scored 21 of her game high 27 points in the second half to CSU Bakersfield past UC Irvine 80-70 Wednesday night.

Four of the nine CSU Bakersfield players who saw action in the first half for the Roadrunners were called for at least two fouls. Outland was called for her third foul with under three to go in the first half. Despite the foul trouble (12 for Bakersfield, six for UC Irvine), the ‘Runners would lead by as much as 13 before taking a 33-27 advantage into the break. Brooklynn Hinkens (Sr., Lake Tapps, Wash., Auburn-Riverside HS) scored 12 of her 14 points in the opening stanza.
