LAS CRUCES, N.M. - (NMSU Media Relations) The New Mexico State women’s basketball team defeated Eastern New Mexico on Thursday night inside the Pan American Center, 79-51, for its first victory of 2014-15 season.

The Aggies led by 20-plus at the break and cruised in the second half to 28-point win in front of their home crowd. NM State shot a season-high 44.6 percent (29-65) from the field, including over 50 percent in the first half, and also tied a season high with 16 steals.

CHICAGO - Paris Williams scored a team-high 16 points and Layne Murphy fell just one rebound short of a double-double but it wasn't enough as visiting IPFW earned a 79-62 win over Chicago State on Thursday afternoon.

Washington 102, Seattle U 69

SEATTLE - (SU Media Relations) Seattle University women’s basketball scored the first points of the game but second-half turnovers and hot shooting by Washington would give the Huskies the 102-69 win in SU’s annual game at KeyArena.

Afunugo led all players on the floor with a career-high 24 points while Ross posted a career-high 21 points. From the field, Seattle U shot 42 percent (29-for-69) while Washington shot 49.3 percent (36-for-73). The Huskies also led from behind the arc and at the line.
