New Mexico State 70, New Mexico 59
Recap | Stats
LAS CRUCES, N.M. - (NMSU Media Relations) There were two numbers the New Mexico State women’s basketball team had etched in its mind before its meeting with I-25 rival New Mexico, seven and 12, the number of years and games respectively since the Aggies last defeated the Lobos.
Those numbers were erased on Sunday afternoon inside the Pan American Center after NM State (2-5) used its best shooting day of the young season, a stifling full-court defense and another great day from junior Sasha Weber to defeat its rivals from the north, 70-59, and pick up its second-consecutive win and first over UNM since 2007.
