LEXINGTON, Ky. – Missouri-Kansas City libero Taryn Miller has been named to the 2014 All-Midwest Region team, announced today by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Miller is an honorable mention selection.
A first team All-WAC selection, Miller led the conference in digs per set (5.48), the third-highest average in both WAC and UMKC history. She set the school record with 663 digs this season, which ranks second all-time in WAC history.
Miller was named MVP of the CEFCU Classic, was named WAC Player of the Week on Sept. 15 and was named to the CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District 6 first team.
Miller becomes just the second student-athlete in school history to garner the honors, joining former ‘Roos Catalina Suarez who was named to the All-Mideast Region Team in 1989.
Those named to the all-region teams are now eligible for All-America honors, which will be announced next week during the AVCA Convention.
