DENVER — Northern Arizona’s Kendall Brown and Alexa Geiger have been named the Western Athletic Conference Women’s Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for February 3-9.
 
Brown, a sophomore from Aliso Viejo, Calif. (Laguna Hills HS), won two events in Northern Arizona’s 168-125 dual meet victory over Grand Canyon last Saturday.  Brown won the 1500-short course meter freestyle by more than 18 seconds with a time of 17:09.42.  Her time converted to a 1650-yard time of 16:50.30 is the fastest in the WAC this season.  She also set a new pool record with her 800 split time of 8:59.96.  Brown then won the 400 free with a time of 4:22.94.
 
Geiger, a freshman from Fullerton, Calif. (Troy HS), posted a season-high score of 309.97 points on the 3-meter diving board in the dual meet against Grand Canyon.  The score is the fourth highest in the WAC this season and smashed her previous best of 238.87.  Earlier, Geiger climbed one spot to third in the WAC on the 1-meter with a new season-best score of 282.97.
