The Antelopes opened play at the Hillenbrand Invitational Thursday with a 5-0 loss to No. 24 Arizona. With the defeat, Grand Canyon drops to 2-4 on the season. The 'Lopes allowed just five Wildcat hits, with a three-run homer in the third inning doing most of the damage. Kailey Regester held Arizona scoreless and didn't allow a hit over the final 3.2 innings. Lauren Regester racked up a pair of hits, while Camree Wartman accounted for Grand Canyon's other hit.
Brigham Youing 14, Seattle U 8
Seattle U came within one run against Brigham Young, but fell 14-8 to the Cougars on day one of the Easton Desert Classic. The Redhawks rattled off 11 hits, but gave up 16 to BYU and committed four errors in the lose, which dropped Seattle U to 1-6 on the seaosn. Five different Redhawks earned two hits in the game, while Bubba Morrow and Kayla Shuster-Gonzales led the team with three RBI apiece.
