DENVER – Utah Valley’s JT Timmons and Grand Canyon’s Charlotte Jaengkit have been named the Western Athletic Conference Golfers of the Week for Feb. 10-16.
Timmons, a freshman from Holladay, Utah (Olympus HS), recorded his first-ever win last week at the Pat Hicks Invitational in St. George, Utah. Timmon’s tournament-winning 10-under par 134 over 36 holes was also the lowest score ever carded at the tournament, besting the previous mark of 135. Timmons shot a five-under par 67 on both days of the tournament to pick up the win by four strokes.
Jaengkit, a junior from Bangkok, Thailand (Antelope Valley Christian), finished second of 94 golfers at the Le Triomphe Collegiate Invitational. Jaengkit shot a one-under par 71 in the first round to tie for first following 18 holes, and finished three strokes behind the tournament winner with a two-round total of even par 144. She led Grand Canyon to a third place team finish among the 18 teams in the field.
