Arizona 8, Utah Valley 7 (14)

Tucscon, Ariz.-Arizona scored a run in the bottom of the 14th inning to break a 7-7 tie, giving the Wildcats an 8-7 victory over Utah Valley at Hi Corbett Field in Tucson, Ariz.

Utah Valley held a 6-0 lead through the fourth inning and then had a 7-5 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh inning. Arizona rallied for two runs of its own in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game 7-7. The score would remain tied until Arizona's Tyler Krause doubled to center field, scoring Scott Kingery from second to claim the 8-7 victory in the bottom of the 14th.

#19 TCU 10, Northern Colorado 3

FORT WORTH, Texas –(NC Media Relations) Playing five games in five days to start the 2014 season, the Northern Colorado baseball team ran into No. 19 TCU on the fifth day, falling 10-3 on the Horned Frogs campus.

The Bears (0-5) scored all three runs in the sixth inning, but struck out 15 times in the game, including seven times in the final three frames as the TCU (3-1) pitching was spot on most of the contest.

UC Santa Barbara 5, Bakersfield 1

SANTA BARBARA, Calif.-(CSUB Media Relations)Four UC Santa Barbara pitchers combined on a six-hitter as the Gauchos (1-0) defeated Bakersfield (3-1) 5-1 in baseball action Tuesday afternoon.

Playing for the first time in 2014 after having their opening series cancelled against No. 5 North Carolina State due to weather, the Gaucho pitchers, led by starter Dylan Hecht, struck out 12 Roadrunner batters.

Fresno State 10, Grand Canyon 1

Fresno, Calif.-(GCU Media Relations) The Grand Canyon University baseball team (1-3) concluded their nearly week-long roadtrip with a 10-1 loss at Fresno State (3-1) tonight at Beiden Field in Fresno, Calif.

It was a matchup between teams who had previously competed against one another while both were members of the Western Athletic Conference, although this was their first meeting since the 1997 season.

Starter Ethan Evanko tonight made his GCU debut, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits with two strikeouts over 3.2 innings of work to suffer the loss.
