This is the eighth installment of WAC SAAC Gives Back, which highlights the community service efforts and activities of the Student-Athlete Advisory Councils at each of the nine WAC schools.
Among the initiatives the Utah Valley SAAC has been involved in this school year are:
Green 4 Good 5K: The UVU SAAC hosted the Green 4 Good 5K fundraiser for Kalina Zufelt-Clegg, a former cross country and track & field athlete who battled Stage IV ovarian cancer. All proceeds raised from the 5K helped cover financial costs of surgeries and other medical procedures.
Learning Packets: UVU student-athletes created learning packets for local elementary schools.
Christmas Caroling: Members of the men's basketball team sang Christmas carols at the Seville and Orchard Park senior centers.
UVU’s Got Talent: Members of the UVU SAAC put on a talent show in a packed Ragan Theatre, showcasing their talents through music, dance and comedy. The proceeds from the show went to the group's involvement in the WAC SAAC Toy Drive.
WAC SAAC Toy Drive: The UVU SAAC presented its contributions of toys and cash to Toys for Tots as part of the WAC SAAC Toy Drive.
