Kansas City 74, Utah Valley 56

Kansas City, Mo. - (UMKC Media Relations) Kansas City came to play on Saturday night, leading for the final 36 minutes and coasting to a 74-56 win against WAC-leading Utah Valley. Kansas City celebrated Senior Night in the win and snapped its six-game skid in convincing fashion.

“I am extremely proud of these seniors,” UMKC Head Coach Kareem Richardson said. “We really played well defensively tonight and executed on offense when we needed to. It was a complete effort.”

Kansas City (8-18, 5-8 WAC) put together a near flawless first half, holding UVU (16-10, 10-3 WAC) to only 35.7 percent shooting, while hitting 53.6 percent. The ‘Roos made only one turnover, and took an 18-16 rebound edge as well.

Idaho 83, Grand Canyon 77

MOSCOW, Idaho –(UI Media Relations) In his last home game as a Vandal, Stephen Madison scored his number – 34—and the Idaho men’s basketball team earned an 83-77 win over Grand Canyon on Saturday afternoon.

Madison was an efficient 12-for-15 from the field and 9-for-10 at the free throw line and added six rebounds, two assists and a block. Freshman Sekou Wiggs finished with 16 points for Idaho, senior Glen Dean had 10 and senior Joe Kammerer added five rebounds.

Chicago State 73, Bakersfield 68

CHICAGO –(CSU Media Relations) Senior Quinton Pippen (Hamburg, Ark./Hamburg) recorded 18 points, five rebounds and four steals in Chicago State men's basketball's 73-68 victory over Bakersfield on Saturday (Feb. 22) afternoon in a Western Athletic Conference contest at the Jones Convocation Center.

"When Quinton is playing the way he did from the energy stand point, from a hustle stand point, from the rebounding and defensive stand point, were going to be hard to beat," Chicago State head coach Tracy Dildy said. "We go as Quinton Pippen (Hamburg, Ark./Hamburg) goes."
