SACRAMENTO, Calif. –(SAC Media Relations) Sacramento State freshman second baseman Brandon Hunley broke a tied score with a three-run homerun in the bottom of the eighth to lift the Hornets to a 7-4 win over Nevada on Tuesday night at Raley Field. Hunley hit the home run after the previous batter, sophomore Nathan Lukes, was intentionally walked by Nevada reliever Adam Whitt to put runners at the corners with two away.

“I knew he was going to walk him because Nate was having a great night, and when he did it kind of challenged me,” Hunley said. “I just wanted to prove him wrong and show them that they made a mistake.”

#27 Texas 2, Texas-Pan American 1 (11)

AUSTIN –(UTPA Media Relations) The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs baseball got to within two outs of upsetting the No. 15 University of Texas Longhorns, but a ninth inning sacrifice fly and an 11th inning walk off single sent the Longhorns past the Broncs 2-1 on Tuesday at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.

The Broncs (5-4) got their run against Josh Sawyer in the third. With junior Michael Baca at second and two outs, junior Jesus Garcia singled up the middle to score Baca and make it 1-0.
