Utah Valley 66, New Mexico State 61 (OT)

OREM, Utah -(UVU Media Relations) Utah Valley University took sole possession of first place in the Western Athletic Conference following a 66-61 overtime win over New Mexico State on Thursday night at the UCCU Center. Keawe Enos knocked down three free throws with 4.3 seconds to send the game into the extra frame and Ben Aird scored six of his game-high 21 during the OT.

The Wolverines (17-10, 11-3) moved in front of the Aggies (21-9, 10-4) by one game in the WAC standings with two games left in the regular season. The Wolverines host Texas-Pan American on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. MT and can clinch at least a share of the regular season title with the win.

Kansas City 85, Grand Canyon 80

Phoenix, Ariz. -(UMKC Media Relations) Freshman Martez Harrison scored a career-high 31 points and the Kansas City men's basketball squad battled out a tough 85-80 road win in front of a packed house at Grand Canyon on Thursday night.

With the ‘Roos leading 82-80, Harrison hit a three-pointer as the shot clock expired and 10.5 seconds remaining, clinching the victory. He became the first ‘Roo to score 31 points since Jay Cousinard did it on February 17, 2011. It was the most for a freshman at UMKC since Tony Dumas scored 40 on March 3, 1991. He is only the third UMKC freshman to score 30+ in a game (Dumas and Ronnie Schmitz).

Chicago State 84, Seattle U 77 (3OT)

SEATTLE –(CSU Media Relations) Chicago State men's basketball moved back over .500 in Western Athletic Conference play on Saturday (Feb. 27) thanks to an 84-77 triple overtime victory at KeyArena over Seattle U.

The win snaps Chicago State's five-game losing streak in overtime games. The victory is also the first multiple-overtime victory in program history as an NCAA Division I member. The Cougars' last triple overtime game came last season, in an 83-78 loss at NJIT on Jan. 12, 2013.

Texas-Pan American 63, Bakersfield 61

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – With the University of Texas-Pan American men's basketball team down two with 18 seconds left, sophomore Shaquille Hines hit a three-pointer to send the Broncs past the Bakersfield Roadrunners 63-61 on Thursday at Rabobank Arena.

The shot was set-up by stifling defense by the Broncs, as they held the Roadrunners without a field goal over the final 4:08 to come back from down 59-57.
