DENVER — North Dakota’s Morgan Lynch and Idaho’s Paige Hunt have been named the Western Athletic Conference Women’s Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for January 27-February 2.
 
Lynch, a senior from Elk River, Minn. (Elk River HS), helped North Dakota to a 158-142 win at South Dakota State on Saturday.  She began the meet with a second-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:29.95.  She then swam the next event and place third in the 200 free with a time of 1:57.54.  Lynch finished her individual events with a victory in the 500 free in 5:08.29, winning by more than three seconds.
 
Hunt, a senior from Mesa, Ariz. (Mesa CC), finished in the top seven in all three diving events at the Air Force Diving Invitational last weekend.  Hunt opened the meet by placing seventh on the 1-meter with a score of 267.85 and the capped off the day with a fourth-place finish on the platform with a score of 245.15.  On Saturday, she finished the prelims of the 3-meter board in fifth place, but then scored 322.30 points in the finals to win the event.  The field consisted of 55 divers including teams from WAC schools New Mexico State, Northern Arizona and Northern Colorado.
