Idaho 75, New Mexico State 66
After trailing by as many as 11 points in the second half, the Vandals rallied to defeat New Mexico State 75-66 Thursday at the Pan-American Center to remain undefeated in WAC play. With the victory, Idaho improves to 16-7 overall and 9-0 in the WAC. The Aggies drop to 7-15 on the season and 4-5 in WAC play.
The Vandals shot 35 percent from the field, 39 percent from three-point range and 62 percent from the free throw line on the game. NM State connected on 34 percent from the floor, 24 percent from beyond the arc and 65 percent from the line. Idaho out-rebounded the Aggies 51-46.
Stacey Barr led Idaho with 22 points and 10 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the year. Christina Salvatore added 13 points, while Ali Forde also doubled up with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Brooke Reilly added 10 points.
Danesia Williamson led all players with 33 points, while Sasha Weber finished with 13 points and nine rebounds.
Seattle U 75, Texas-Pan American 68 (OT)
After trailing by as many as 19 in the first half, the Broncs outscored the Redhawks 41-29 in the second half to force overtime, only to fall 75-68 to Seattle U Thursday at the UTPA Fieldhouse. With the win, the Redhawks improve to 11-11 on the season and 6-3 in WAC play. The Broncs fall to 11-11 on the year and 5-4 in the WAC with the loss.
Seattle U shot 58 percent from the field, 50 percent from three-point range and 65 percent from the free throw line on the game. UTPA connected on 34 percent from the floor, 33 percent from downtown and 65 percent from the charity stripe. The Redhawks dominated the boards, 45-29, but committed 30 turnovers.
Sylvia Shephard led Seattle U with 22 points, while Kacie Sowell posted a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds. Alexis Montgomery added 13 points.
Shawnte' Goff paced the Broncs with 17 points, while Jasmine Thompson added 12 and Brittany Bush had 10.
Grand Canyon 66, Utah Valley 63
The Antelopes erased a nine-point second-half deficit to defeat Utah Valley 66-63 Thursday at the UCCU Center. With the victory, Grand Canyon improves to 16-6 overall and 5-4 in the WAC. The Wolverines drop to 4-18 on the season and 1-8 in WAC play with the defeat.
The 'Lopes shot 48 percent from the field, 44 percent from three-point range and 58 percent from the free throw line on the game. Utah Valley connected on 55 percent from the floor, 44 percent from beyond the arc and 83 percent from the line. The Wolverines won the rebounding battle, 29-25.
Johnna Brown led GCU with 18 points and 10 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the year. Justine Johnson and Kaitlyn Petersen added 14 points apiece, with Petersen also dishing out eight assists.
Sam Loggins paced the Wolverines with 14 points, while Whitney Jenkins added 12 and Rhaiah Spooner-Knight had 10.
