This is the seventh installment of WAC SAAC Gives Back, which highlights the community service efforts and activities of the Student-Athlete Advisory Councils at each of the nine WAC schools.
Among the initiatives the New Mexico State SAAC has been involved in this school year are:
Dress a Child: Members of the New Mexico State SAAC helped children in the community pick out clothes with money that had been raised by the Rotary of Las Cruces.
El Caldito Soup Kitchen: Members of the men's basketball team volunteered at El Caldito Soup Kitchen, preparing and serving a meal.
Literacy Night: Members of the NM State SAAC read to children at East Picacho Elementary School Elementary School as part of Literacy Night.
Special Olympics: Members of the NM State SAAC volunteered with Special Olympics New Mexico, serving as official scorers and table crew for a basketball tournament.
WAC SAAC Toy Drive: The NM State SAAC raised funds that were used to buy toys which were then donated to Jardin de los Niños as part of the WAC SAAC Toy Drive.
