Idaho 85, Texas-Pan American 52
The Vandals remained undefeated in WAC play with an 85-52 win over Texas-Pan American at the UTPA Fieldhouse Saturday. With the win, Idaho improves to 17-7 on the season and 10-0 in WAC play. The Broncs drop to 11-12 overall and 5-5 in the WAC with the loss.
The Vandals shot 54 percent from the field, 38 percent from three-point range and 74 percent from the free throw line. UTPA connected on 28 percent from the floor, 19 percent from beyond the arc and 79 percent from the line. Idaho edged the Broncs on the boards, 40-36.
Stacey Barr led all players with 22 points and 13 rebounds for her 10th double-double of the season. Christina Salvatore and Ali Forde added 13 points apiece, while Connie Ballestero and Addie Schivo finished with 10 points each.
Shawnte' Goff paced UTPA with 15 points.
Bakersfield 77, Grand Canyon 70
The Roadrunners won their fifth-straight game, defeating Grand Canyon 77-70 at the Icardo Center Saturday afternoon. With the victory, Bakersfield improves to 13-8 on the season and 7-2 in the WAC. The Antelopes fall to 16-7 overall and 5-5 in WAC play.
The Roadrunners shot 45 percent from the field, 41 percent from three-point range and 72 percent from the free throw line on the game. Grand Canyon connected on 47 percent from the floor, 38 percent from downtown and 89 percent from the charity stripe. Bakersfield out-rebounded the 'Lopes 38-29.
Tyonna Outland led all players with 21 points and 11 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. Melissa Sweat just missed a double-double, finishing with 14 points and nine rebounds. Alyssa Shannon also nearly doubled up, posting 12 points and nine assists. Dajy Vines also scored 12 points.
Kaitlyn Petersen led Grand Canyon with 20 points and seven assists. Deanna Daniels added 18 points and eight rebounds, while Johnna Brown tallied 12 points and nine rebounds. August Touchard also scored 12 points.
New Mexico State 86, Seattle U 81
The Aggies led by as many as 10 points in the first half and went on to defeat Seattle U 86-81 at the Pan American Center Saturday. With the win, New Mexico State improves to 8-15 overall and 5-5 in WAC play. The Redhawks drop to 11-12 on the season and 6-4 in the WAC.
The Aggies shot 39 percent from the field, 44 percent from three-point range and 66 percent from the free throw line. Seattle U connected on 46 percent from the floor, 43 percent from beyond the arc and 57 percent from the line on the game. NM State edged the Redhawks on the boards, 45-43.
Danesia Williamson led all players with 36 points, while Sasha Weber added 20. Moriah Mack tallied 12 points, while Bradley Nash pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds.
Kacie Sowell led Seattle U with 16 points and 12 boards for her eighth double-double of the year. Sylvia Shephard also doubled up with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Makenna Clark scored 14 points, while Taelor Ross finished with 11 and Alexis Montgomery had 10.
Kansas City 84, at Chicago State 52
The Kangaroos picked up their first WAC road win Saturday, defeating Chicago State 84-52 at the Jones Convocation Center. With the victory, Kansas City improves to 8-14 on the season and 4-5 in the WAC. The Cougars fall to 3-19 overall and 0-9 in WAC play with the loss.
The Kangaroos shot 51 percent from the field, 20 percent from three-point range and 68 percent from the free throw line. Chicago State connected on 34 percent from the floor, 14 percent from downtown and 63 percent from the charity stripe. Kansas City more than doubled the Cougars in rebounds, 56-25.
Kim Nezianya led all players with 19 points and 17 boards for her WAC-leading 11th double-double of the season. Eilise O'Connor also doubled up, finishing with 16 points and 10 assists.
Tierra Williams led Chicago State with 18 points, while Layne Murphy added 14.
