DENVER – Utah Valley’s Brayden Eriksen and Grand Canyon’s Emily Kaye have been named the Western Athletic Conference Golfers of the Week for March 10-16.
Eriksen, a junior from Qualicum Beach, BC, Canada (Kwalikum HS), recorded his fifth top-10 finish in seven tournaments this season, finishing in a tie for seventh at the esteemed Bandon Dunes Championship. Eriksen finished seven shots back of tournament champion Jonathan Sanders of Washington. He helped lead the Wolverines to their highest all-time finish at Bandon, besting their previous mark of eighth place.
Kaye, a junior from Scottsdale, Ariz. (Chaparral HS), picked up her third top-10 finish this season after tying for third place at the Southern Utah University Invitational. She led the 71-competitor field following the first round with a one-under par 71 after posting a tournament-best five birdies and three-under on Par 5 scoring through 18 holes. Kaye finished with six birdies which was tied for the second-most in the tournament.
