New Mexico State 13, Binghampton 3 (5)
The Aggies picked up a five-inning 13-3 win over Binghampton in their first game of the day at the Eller Media Stadium Classic Saturday. Staci Rodriguez was 4-for-4 with two home runs and seven RBI. Haley Nakamura drove in two runs, while Devon Thomey scored three runs and drove one in more. Celisha Walker earned the win in the circle, allowing one run on three hits over 2.2 innings.
New Mexico State 5, at UNLV 4
The Aggies defeated host UNLV 5-4 later in the day to improve to 13-6 on the season. Rodriguez and Fiana Finau both hit homers in the victory, while Nakamura hit a two-run triple. Karysta Donisthorpe earned the win, allowing four runs, three of which were earned, while striking out five over six innings. Walker picked up a save, her second of the year.
Seattle U 7, Santa Clara 3
The Redhawks defeated the host Broncos 7-3 in their first game of the day at the Santa Clara Invitational Saturday. Brianna Guerrero was 4-for-5 with three doubles and two RBI, while Jenny Hurst was 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI. Mandie Sugita earned the win, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out five, while Alyssa Reuble picked up the save.
Seattle U 4, Boston University 1
The Redhawks defeated Boston University 4-1 later in the day to improve to 7-11 on the season. Sarah Petosa led Seattle U at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Bubba Morrow and Lisa Maulden drove in the other two Redhawk runs. Lindsay Davis earned the win in the circle, allowing one run on seven hits over six innings. Reuble picked up her second save of the day, giving up one hit in one inning of work.
No. 6 Michigan 7, Utah Valley 1
The Wolverines fell 7-1 to No. 6 Michigan at the Louisville Slugger Invitational Saturday. With the loss, Utah Valley remains winless on the season at 0-13. After Trailing 1-0, the Wolverines tied the game in the top of the third on an RBI-single by Brittney Vansway. Michigan answered with one run in the bottom of the inning and then plated five runs in the bottom of the sixth when the game was called due to rain.
No. 7 Washington 9, Bakersfield 0 (6)
The Roadrunners fell 9-0 to No. 7 Washington Saturday at the Libby Matson Tournament to fall to 2-14 on the season. The game was scoreless through four innings and Bakersfield trailed 1-0 after five innings before allowing eight runs in the top of the sixth to end the game. Jessica Castaneda got the only Bakersfield hit in the loss.
