The Antelopes out-hit the Golden Bears 10-9, but committed two errors and gave up two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning in a 5-4 loss to California in the first half of a doubleheader Thursday. Camree Wartman hit a two-run homer, while Stephanie Smith was 3-for-3 with one RBI. Claire Zampini also drove in a run in the loss. Stephanie Pesqueira suffered the loss, allowing three earned runs on nine hits while striking out three over six innings.
California 7, Grand Canyon 1
The 'Lopes stranded eight runners in a 7-1 loss to the Bears in the nightcap to drop to 11-14 on the season. Haley Walker hit a solo homer in the top of the seventh to account for Grand Canyon's only run in the loss. Kailey Regester took the loss, allowing six runs on sevne hits over five innings of work.
