Edinburg, Texas –(NMSU Media Relations) The New Mexico State baseball team defeated Texas-Pan American, Sunday afternoon, 3-2. The victory also gave the Aggies the series, 2-1. NM State is now 10-13 overall and 2-1 in WAC play.
“We had been dealing with the wind all weekend and finally we got a break in the seventh with a singles and a walk, putting runners on the bases,” head coach Rocky Ward said. “Wagner then had a great hit into the wind and an error by right fielder helped us break it open. We had other chances to score in the eighth and ninth but just couldn’t get it going.”

Sacramento State 3, Northern Colorado 1
SACRAMENTO, Calif. –(SAC Media Relations) Four Hornet pitchers combined to allow just one run on seven hits and senior David Del Grande reached base four times and scored twice to lead Sacramento State to a 3-1 win over Northern Colorado on Sunday.
The Hornets (12-11, 3-0 WAC) won their fourth consecutive game and completed a series sweep of Northern Colorado (5-19, 0-3 WAC), which was limited to just four runs over the three-game set.

North Dakota 6, Bakersfield 3
BAKERSFIELD, Calif.-(UND Media Relations) Junior Jeff Campbell earned his second straight complete game win Sunday, defeating Bakersfield 6-3 in the finale of a Western Athletic Conference series. Campbell had a shutout rolling through eight innings before battling to finish out the game after four hits in the first five batters.
"Another great outing from Jeff Campbell today," UND head coach Jeff Dodson said. "The intensity our guys brought to the park after a heartbreaking loss last night was great to see as a coach. We faced a great arm today and we were able to work some counts and get some baserunners. They made some mistakes and we capitalized. We're really pleased with the way Campbell performed and this will be big as we continue league play."

Dallas Baptist 4, Utah Valley 1
DALLAS –(UVU Media Relations) Utah Valley University’s attempt at a series sweep fell short in a 4-1 loss at Dallas Baptist on Sunday at Horner Ballpark. A three-run sixth inning allowed the home standing Patriots (16-7) salvage the finale against the Wolverines (7-16).
Unlike in Saturday’s game, when UVU rallied with five runs in the ninth, a comeback was not realized despite bringing the tying run to the plate in the final at-bat.

Grand Canyon 9, UC Irvine 1
Irvine, Calif.-(GCU Media Relations) The Grand Canyon University baseball team (11-11, 2-1 WAC) jumped out to quick lead and never looked back as they won, 9-1, over UC Irvine (15-8, 0-0 BWC) in the series finale today at Anteater Stadium in Irvine, Calif. The Antelopes collected 13 hits in the victory, their eighth double-digit effort at the plate this season. GCU also improved to 8-0 in games in which they score six or more runs. The series marked the end of a seven-game stretch on the road that began last weekend at Bakersfield.
Eight different GCU players recorded at least one hit in the win, including a three-hit effort by Josh Ethier. Matt Haggerty, Garrett Jeffries, and Brian Kraft each had two hits in the game. Ben Mauseth and Kraft also added two RBI apiece.
