DENVER – Kansas City’s Nathan Hughes and Grand Canyon’s Charlotte Jaengkit have been named the Western Athletic Conference Golfers of the Week for March 17-23.

Hughes, a senior from Bartlesville, Okla. (Bartlesville HS), won Kansas City’s 23rd individual title in team history, helping his team win the 17th team title in school history. Hughes beat out 90 competitors at the Desert Shootout in Phoenix, Ariz., shooting a 16-under par 200 (67-65-68) to win medalist honors. His 16-under par 200 is the lowest individual score in school history, while his second-round seven-under par 65 is a career low and ties him for the third lowest round in Kansas City history. The ‘Roos won the team title with a 31-under par 833, beating BYU in a one-hole playoff.

Jaengkit, a junior from Bangkok, Thailand (Antelope Valley Christian), picked up her third individual victory of the season and her ninth top-10 finish in 10 tournaments at the Jackrabbit Invitational. Jaengkit led the field with even-par scoring on Par 4 holes, while her six total birdies were tied for the second-most. Jaengkit carded an impressive three-under par 69 in the second round. She helped guide the team to a second place finish, the eighth time that the Antelopes have finished in the top-five this season.
