DENVER – Grand Canyon’s Felix Schueller and Tatum Prudhomme have been named the Western Athletic Conference men’s and women’s Tennis Athletes of the Week, respectively, for March 17-23.
Schueller, a sophomore from Amstetten, Austria (BG/BRG Ostarrichi Amstten), was a perfect 4-0 this weekend as Grand Canyon defeated Seattle, 4-3, and Southern Utah, 7-0. Schueller has now won six of his last seven completed singles matches and is 8-3 overall in singles this season. He teamed with partner Ahmad Saleem to win both doubles matches at the No. 1 position.
Prudhomme, a 16-year old freshman from Glendale, Ariz. (Connections Academy), went 4-0 on the week as Grand Canyon defeated Weber State, 7-0, and Southern Utah, 6-1. Prudhomme has won nine of her last 10 singles matches and lost just three games in three sets of singles play in both matches. She teamed with Priscilla Annoual to win both No. 2 doubles matches, snapping a two-match losing streak.
