Chicago State fell to St. Louis in its only match of the week ... Sophomore Marnie Perez-Ochoa scored the Cougars’ only singles point with a 7-6, 6-4 win over Brooke Urzendowski .... Chicago State also scored the doubles point after winning two of the three doubles matches ... senior Karyn Emeralda and freshman Kirsa Utech won 8-6 over Cervin Aspen and Maria Toro ... freshman Faith Huckabee and sophomore Carynne Lloyd were 8-4 winners over Natalia Yacaman and Madison Cook ... the Cougars are off this week ... CSU returns to the court on April 5th at Bowling Green University.
GRAND CANYON
Grand Canyon went 3-0 during a trip to Las Vegas, Nev. ... GCU only lost one individual match during the three duals, topping Weber State, 7-0, Idaho State, 6-1, and Seattle U, 7-0 ... Tatum Prudhomme and Alexandra Petrzalkova ran their singles winning streaks to four ... Janaki Gunuganti and Frederique Van de Velde won for the 10th-straight time in doubles play ... Prudhomme was named WAC women;s tennis Athlete of the Week for her efforts ... this week, the ‘Lopes will travel to Reno, Nev. for two matches, facing Nevada on Saturday and Colorado State on Sunday.
IDAHO
Idaho fell against Portland, 4-2, in its only match last week ... Idaho won the doubles point with victories at all three doubles positions ... Victoria Lozano and Almudena Sanz won 8-5 at No. 1, Galina Bykova and Rita Bermudez won 8-6 at No. 2 and Sophie Vickers and Belen Barcenilla won 8-1 at No. 3 ... Beatriz Flores won 6-1, 7-5 at No. 6 singles, but Portland took singles victories at Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 4 to take the 4-2 win ... this week, the Vandals travel to Arizona for two matches, facing Northern Arizona on Sunday and Grand Canyon on Monday.
KANSAS CITY
The ‘Roos were off last week ... in its last action, UMKC travelled to California for two matches last week, sweeping Concordia (Calif.), 7-0, and falling to Cal State-Northridge, 7-0 ... the ‘Roos had to play Northridge without their No. 1 singles player, Dimitra Stavrianakou ... this week, the ‘Roos are off ... UMKC will return to action on April 4 against St. Louis.
NEW MEXICO STATE
New Mexico State went 1-2 last weekend, defeating UTEP, 4-3, but falling to New Mexico, 6-1, and Cal State Northridge, 4-2 ... the victory over UTEP broke a five-match losing streak for the Aggies ... Ashvarya Shrivastava has won nine-straight singles matches after posting a 3-0 effort on the week ... this week, New Mexico State has two more matches of a three-match swing in California, facing UC Irvine on Wednesday and Cal State Fullerton on Friday.
SEATTLE U
Seattle U went 1-4 as it closed out the regular season portion of its season in Las Vegas, Nev. ... the Redhawks swept Mesa Community College, 7-0, to earn their fourth victory of the season, but fell to Weber State, Grand Canyon, Idaho State and Southern Utah ... the Redhawks will now have almost a month off from competition, before travelling to Las Cruces, N.M. for the 2014 WAC Tennis Tournament from April 25-27.
TEXAS-PAN AMERICAN
The Broncs closed out their regular season with a 5-2 win over Incarnate Word .... sophomore Christel Amsallem won her seventh straight match as she defeated Brianah Creek 6-0, 6-0 ... Amsallem is now 12-4 on the season ... senior Wanda Beguelin defeated Sarah Savedra 4-6, 7-6, 10-3 ... the win was Beguelin’s 44th career victory, which ranks her seventh in program history in singles victories ... UTPA is off from competition for almost a month before travelling to Las Cruces, N.M. for the 2014 WAC Tennis Tournament, which will take place April 25-27.

The 2014 WAC Tennis Tournament will be held April 25-27 in Las Cruces, N.M. The WAC conference championship will be up for grabs, as last year’s champions, San Jose State, has since departed the WAC.
