TEAM RECAPS
CHICAGO STATE

Chicago State fell 7-0 to St. Louis in its only match of the week ... juniors Mario Noboa and Sergiu Muresan defeated St. Louis’ Nishaad Balachandran and Yehia El Sallaly, 8-2, in doubles play ... this week, the Cougars travel to Nebraska for two matches, facing Omaha on Friday and Creighton on Saturday.

GRAND CANYON
Grand Canyon went 3-0 on a trip to Las Vegas, Nev. ... GCU swept a doubleheader over Southern Utah (7-0) and Seattle (4-3) on Sunday and then dropped Idaho State, 5-2, on Monday ... Adrian Legarreta has won four-straight matches at the No. 3 position ... Felix Schueller was named WAC men’s tennis Athlete of the Week for his 4-0 effort on the week ... GCU has won eight of its last nine matches ... this week, the ‘Lopes are off ... GCU will be back in action on April 4 against Northern Arizona.

IDAHO
Idaho was off last week ... the Vandals travelled to California for two matches in their last action, falling at Pacific, 5-2, and defeating Sacramento State, 4-1 ... Idaho picked up the doubles point in both matches ... Cesar Torres went 2-0 at the No. 5 singles position ... this weekend, Idaho is off ... the Vandals are back in action on Friday against Seattle U, and then travel to Portland, Ore., to face Hawai’i on Sunday and Portland on Monday.

KANSAS CITY
Kansas City was off last weekend ... in its last action, UMKC fell in three matches in Wichita, Kan., losing to Lamar, Wichita State and Air Force ... the ‘Roos won the doubles point against Lamar and Air Force, but couldn’t win more than two singles matches in any contest ... Uldis Gaismins went 2-1 at No. 5 singles ... Tomas Patino picked up a win at No. 1 singles over Air Force ... this week, Kansas City is off again ... the ‘Roos return to action April 4 against St. Louis.

NEW MEXICO STATE
New Mexico State fell to rival New Mexico, 4-2, in its only match of the week ... senior Marc Westgate and sophomore Naveen Manivannan, playing at the No. 1 doubles spot, defeated UNM’s Samir Iftikhar and James Hignett, 8-4 ... Patrick Pfister and Paul Denele lost 8-7 in the deciding match of the doubles point, but both rallied to claim singles victories, at the No.  2 and No. 5 spots, respectively ... this week, the Aggies will travel to Lubbock, Texas, on Sunday for a dual match against Texas Tech.

SEATTLE U
Seattle U went 3-1 during a trip to Las Vegas, Nev. ... the Redhawks defeated Mesa Community College, 7-0, Southern Utah, 7-0, and Idaho State, 5-2, only narrowly falling to Grand Canyon, 4-3 ... the win over Idaho State gave Seattle eight wins on the season, the best win total since the rebirth of the program five years ago ... this week, SU will host Idaho on Friday.

TEXAS-PAN AMERICAN
The Broncs fell in both matches this weekend, 4-3 to Incarnate Word and 6-1 at UTSA ... the UIW dual was the last home match of the year for UTPA ... sophomore Joseph Bishop went undefeated as he beat UIW’s Brody Rodriguez and UTSA’s Kolby Kilgo. ... Bishop won his doubles match with teammate Sebastien Job over Incarnate Word’s Brandon Davis and Chris Haerns, 8-3 ... this week, the Broncs are on the road as they travel to the University of New Orleans on Friday and then face Louisiana-Lafayette on Sunday.

WAC TOURNAMENT TO BE HELD IN LAS CRUCES
The 2014 WAC Tennis Tournament will be held April 25-27 in Las Cruces, N.M.  The WAC conference championship will be up for grabs, as last year’s champions, Denver, has since departed the WAC.
