New Mexico State 81, Grand Canyon 57

LAS CRUCES, N.M. –(NMSU Media Relations) The New Mexico State men’s basketball team won its 22nd-consecutive home Western Athletic Conference matchup Thursday night after defeating Grand Canyon University, 81-57, inside the Pan American Center.

The Aggies conclude the WAC regular season with a 12-4 conference record and can still become WAC co-champions if Utah Valley loses at home to Bakersfield on Friday night. NM State finishes the regular season 23-9 overall, its fifth time with 20-plus wins under head coach Marvin Menzies, including the last three seasons.

Idaho 79, Chicago State 76

CHICAGO –(UI Media Relations) Connor Hill, Idaho’s most prolific 3-point shooter, connected on 7-of-9 3s and the Idaho men’s basketball team hung on for a 79-76 win at Chicago State on Thursday night.

Hill finished with 27 points, two shy of his career-high, with his fourth game of seven-or-more 3-pointres this season. Stephen Madison had a 17-point, 10 rebound double-double and Sekou Wiggs added 16 points off the bench for the Vandals. Mike Scott had nine assists and just two turnovers while scoring seven points in the game.

Kansas City 82, Seattle U 73

Kansas City, Mo. - (UMKC Media Relations) The UMKC men's basketball team has won three straight, and did it with defense on Thursday night in an 82-73 victory over Seattle, holding the guests to only 36 percent from the floor in the first ever college basketball game at Independence Events Center.

The win streak is the longest of the season for the ‘Roos (10-18, 7-8 WAC), who have clinched at least a spot in the No. 4 vs. No. 5 game of next week’s WAC Tournament. They could get as high as the No. 3 seed with a win over Idaho, and a loss by Chicago State on Saturday.
