Lubbock, Texas –(NMSU Media Relations) The New Mexico State baseball team fell 15-2 to No. 30 Texas Tech, Saturday night at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park in Lubbock, Texas. The Aggies move to .500 on the season at 7-7, while Texas Tech improves to 12-3 on the year.
Kristoffer Koerper led NM State at the plate going 3-for-4 with a run scored. He also recorded a double and a team-high six putouts on the night. Billy Conard took the loss for NM State, pitching four innings, allowing five runs on nine hits with three strikes outs. Conard is now 1-1 on the season.

PORTLAND, Ore.-(CSUB Media Relations) The University of Portland defeated Bakersfield 5-1 to open the three-game series Friday afternoon on the campus of Concordia University.
The Roadrunners (6-7) took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth on a Chance Gusbeth (So., Lancaster, Calif., Desert Christian HS) RBI single. Caleb Whalen's two-RBI double in the bottom of the fifth keyed a three-run Pilots' (3-10) rally. Cody Lenahan hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth.

ST. LOUIS, Mo.--(UND Media Relations) The University of North Dakota baseball team dropped the first two of a four-game set at Saint Louis Friday, falling 6-4 and 12-4. North Dakota is now 0-6 overall on the young season.
Saint Louis struck first, scoring a single run in the bottom of the first inning in game one. UND answered with a run in the second on a triple by Zack Trygstad-- one of his five hits on the afternoon-- followed by an RBI base knock by Ryan Reese.

SEATTLE-(SU Media Relations) Both starting pitchers showed strong stuff early in Friday’s game, but nationally-ranked Cal Poly was able to break through midway through the contest, while Seattle University struggled offensively, leading to a 4-0 victory for the Mustangs over the Redhawks in a collegiate baseball game at Meridian Park.
About a dozen scouts were on hand to see Cal Poly starting pitcher Matt Imhof, and he delivered with eight innings of shutout baseball, allowing just four hits and three walks while striking out 15 batters. Imhof threw 126 pitches, 77 of them for strikes, as he did not allow a Redhawk runner to advance past second base.

LONG BEACH, Calif. -(UVU Media Relations) A pair of big innings proved costly for Utah Valley University in series-opening 12-0 loss at Long Beach State on Friday night in Southern California. LBSU scored four runs in the fourth and added a five-run sixth in its win.
The Dirtbags (7-6) got a combined three-hit shutout behind starter Nick Sabo and Josh Frye in their fourth straight win. Sabo pitched seven innings, allowing just three hits and striking out seven to move to 2-1 on the year in his team's fourth straight win. Frye threw two perfect innings to finish off the game.

UC Riverside 9, Sacramento State 1
RIVERSIDE, Calif. –(SAC Media Relations) UC Riverside scored runs in six or its eight offensive innings to make up for four defensive errors and tally a 9-1 win on Friday night at the Riverside Sports Complex.
The Highlanders (7-6) got on the board first with a pair of runs in the second inning off three hits, a walk, and a Hornet error. Sacramento State (7-7) cut its deficit to one run in the top of third as sophomore Chris Lewis drove home sophomore Nathan Lukes with a sacrifice fly, but that would be the only Hornet run in the game.

Omaha 6, Grand Canyon 0
PHOENIX-(GCU Media Relations) The Grand Canyon University baseball team (4-8) dropped their series opener against Omaha (5-4) tonight, 6-0, at Brazell Stadium in the first of four games against the Mavericks. This series marks the final non-conference matchup for the Antelopes at home.
GCU was able to muster just two hits in the loss, with Chad De La Guerra and Paul Panaccione both collecting singles. It was the first time this season that the 'Lopes have been shutout.

EDINBURG –(UTPA Media Relations) The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs baseball team scored in five of the first six innings en route to a 7-4 win over the Arlington Baptist College Patriots on Friday at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
The Broncs (7-7) scored their first four runs against Patriots (10-10) starter Michael Scruggs with two outs in each of the first three innings.

Chicago State 9, Northwestern State 3
NATCHITOCHES, La. –(CSU Media Relations) Chicago State baseball scored nine unanswered runs in a 9-3 non-conference victory at Northwestern State on Friday (March 7) evening.
Trailing 1-0 after giving up a run in the bottom of the first, Chicago State took the lead for good with a three spot in the top of the second. However it was the middle innings where the Cougars did the most work. A single run in the fourth, two in both the fifth and sixth and then another run in the seventh was all the runs the Cougars needed. Junior starting pitcher Eric Hall (Oakville, ONT/Oakville Trafalgar) finished the game allowing three unearned runs on seven hits over 6.2 innings. He picks up the win and is now 1-0 on the year. Hall now has a team-leading 0.82 ERA.
