Seattle, Wash.-(SU Media Relations) After Seattle University rallied from a six-run deficit with a 10-run sixth inning, the Redhawks were forced to come back again, scoring four runs in the bottom of the seventh and then holding off nationally-ranked Cal Poly, 15-14, on a rainy Saturday at Triton Field on the campus of Edmonds Community College.
With Seattle U down 7-1 going into the bottom of the sixth inning, Ryan Somers (Sammamish, Wash.) led off with a walk, and Chase Fields (Ontario, Ore.) hit his first home run of the season, a two-run shot over the wall in left field. Landon Cray (Chimacum, Wash.) followed with a solo home run, his second of the game, and then Cal Poly would make a pitching change after a single by Brian Olson (Black Diamond, Wash.) and a walk to Grant Newton (Bend, Ore.).

EDINBURG –(UTPA Media Relations) The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs baseball team completed the three-game sweep of the Arlington Baptist College Patriots with a 4-2 win in the second game of their doubleheader on Saturday at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
Senior Matthew Harrell (2-1) pitched six and a third innings and allowed two runs, one earned, while scattering five hits and striking out three.

Phoenix, Ariz.-(GCU Media Relations) A day after being shutout for the first time this season, the Grand Canyon University baseball team (6-8) responded in big fashion, sweeping their doubleheader over Omaha (5-6) today at Brazell Stadium. The Antelopes combined for 23 runs over the two games while surrendering just two to the Mavericks.
GCU won the first game, 9-2, and were in complete control of the second en route to blanking the Mavericks 14-0 in a contest that was stopped after 7.0 innings.

GREELEY –(NC Media Relations) The Northern Colorado baseball team split a pair of games with North Dakota State on Saturday, winning game one 3-1, but dropping game two 8-4.
Both teams were equal in the hits department in each game with four in the first and 13 in the second, but the Bears (3-11) left 15 runners on base in the second game, while the Bison (3-5) stranded eight in the first contest for the differences in the runs column

LUBBOCK, Texas –(NMSU Media Relations) The New Mexico State baseball team fell 8-7 in 12 innings to No. 30 Texas Tech, Saturday, March 8 at Rip Griffin Park in Lubbock, Texas. The Aggies fall to 7-8 on the year, while the Red Raiders move to 13-3.
NM State posted 15 hits as a team with leftfielder Kyle Kilgore leading the offensive charge going 3-of-5 at the dish and scoring two runs. Third baseman Derrick Umphres and right fielder Michael Paulson had two hits each to go along with one RBI and one run scored.

ST. LOUIS, Mo.--(UND Media Relations) Saint Louis used a six-run seventh to claim a 10-0 win over visiting North Dakota at Lindenwood University Saturday afternoon. The back-to-aback Atlantic 10 champions have now taken the first three games of the series.
Billiken starter James Norwood threw a three-hit gem, allowing just three hits and one walk en route to his second win of the season. SLU (7-6) got a pair of runs in the second inning and two more in the fifth before opening the door with a six-run seventh.

PORTLAND, Ore.--(CSUB Media Relations) Portland defeated Bakersfield 1-0 in baseball action Saturday afternoon. Game two of the scheduled doubleheader was postponed until Sunday due to rain.
The Roadrunners (6-8) were no-hit over the first five innings by Pilots' pitcher Kurt Yinger until Soloman Williams (Jr., Long Beach, Calif., Golden West College) smacked a double to lead off the sixth.

LONG BEACH, Calif. --(UVU Media Relations) Utah Valley University led 3-1 entering the bottom of the seventh but was bitten by six late Long Beach State runs to fall, 7-3, and drop its second straight game in the series.
The Dirtbags (8-6) scored four times in the seventh and twice more in the eighth after the Wolverines (3-11) led 3-0 early on. All three UVU runs came in the third inning.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – (SAC Media Relations) Sacramento State was held to just one run on five hits in an 8-1 loss Saturday against West Virginia in Riverside.
The Hornets (7-8) had to face an opponent ace for the second consecutive day after facing top UC Riverside starter Jacob Smigelski on Friday. West Virginia (6-4) was playing its first of three games over the weekend and sent ace junior lefthander Harrison Musgrave to the hill on Saturday afternoon.

NATCHITOCHES, La. –(CSU Media Relations) Northwestern State baseball recorded two more hits than Chicago State on Saturday (March 8) evening but the Demons made the most of them in Northwestern State's 7-2 victory over the Cougars.
Of the Demons' seven hits, three were doubles. Northwestern State left just three on base while the Cougars stranded five runners.
