TEAM RECAPS
Bakersfield Roadrunners  

Bakersfield was off last week ... CSUB competed at the Cal Poly Invitational in San Luis Obispo, Calif. on March 28-29 ... both the men and the women finished the multi-dual meet with losses against Cal Poly and Fresno State, but won against Pepperdine ... senior Justus Mora’s time of 10.90 in the 100-meter dash was good enough for 4th at the meet and lowered his season best by almost two-tenths of a second and came within two-hundredths of his career best time ... in the 200m,  Alyssa Page came in second with a time of 24.96 and Marina Emhoff lowered her season’s best time by almost two-tenths of a second to 25.59 ... Bakersfield will travel to Claremont, Calif. for the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational on Saturday.

Chicago State Cougars
Chicago State was off last week ... CSU competed at the College of DuPage Invite in Glen Ellyn, Ill. on March 29 ... the Chicago State men earned 66 points to finish in fifth place out of 11 teams ... the women finished fourth out of nine teams with 73 points ... senior Jaya Emerson won the discus (36.38 meters) and the shot put (12.29 meters), and finished second in the hammer throw (41.56 meters) ... sophomore Shaquilla Jackson took second in the 100m with a performance of 12.60 seconds, just two-tenths of a second from a first-place finish ... senior Samuel McKinney finished first in the javelin with a toss of 49.45m ... the Chicago State men won the 4x100-meter relay in 43.17 ... CSU will be back in action this week from Thursday through Sunday at the Chicagoland Outdoor Championships.

Grand Canyon ‘Lopes
Grand Canyon University competed at the Texas Tech Open from April 4-5 in Lubbock, Texas ... sprinter Lance Parker recorded a pair of WAC-best times in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash ... Shavine Hodges took third in the 200m and also recorded the fastest conference time in the 100m ... Jessica Yates finished fourth in the triple jump and the high jump ... Yates’ mark in the triple jump is the top in the conference this spring ... horizontal jumpers Marcus Flannigan and Akintunde Adeyemi both jumped to WAC-bests in the long jump and triple jump, respectively….Grand Canyon will travel to El Paso, Tex., this weekend for the one-day UTEP Invitational on Saturday.

Idaho Vandals  
The University of Idaho track and field team competed at the Sam Adams Classic hosted by Whitworth University ... over the day, the Vandals tallied 23 individual victories ... for the women, freshman Andrea Pikes won the 100m and 200m ... freshman Meghan Palesch won the 100m hurdles and the 400m hurdles ... on the men’s side, freshman Arphaxad Carroll earned a double victory in the long jump and triple jump ... senior Andrey Levkiv took second-place in the discus throw and first in the shot put, while senior teammate Kyle Rothwell claimed the victory in the hammer throw ... junior Matt Sullivan claimed the top spot in the pole vault and earned WAC Field Athlete of the Week honors ... the Vandals will compete with a split squad next weekend, half at the Sun Angel Classic on Friday and Saturday in Tempe, Ariz., and the other half at War VII on Friday in Spokane, Wash.

Kansas City Kangaroos
Kansas City competed at the Emporia Relays on April 5 in Emporia, Kan. ... freshman Mallory Short had a fifth place result in the 100 meter hurdles, crossing the line in a time of 14.53 ... freshman Sarah Krig added a personal best of 1.50 meters in the high jump to place fifth ... freshman Becca Hasenkamp recorded the fifth best throw in school history in the javelin with a toss of 38.21 meters, placing her eighth in the event ... sophomore Blake Hocking improved on his discus mark with a throw of 47.54 meters, the fourth best in school history, to place ninth, while adding a sixth place result in the shot put ... UMKC is of this week ... the ‘Roos will be back in action when they head to Walnut, Calif., for the Mt. SAC Relays on Apr. 17-19 and to Lawrence, Kan., for the Kansas Relays on Apr. 16-19.

New Mexico State Aggies
The New Mexico State track and field team is coming off competition at the Texas Tech Open on April 5 ... junior Diana Hawk looks to continue her improvement in the 1500-meter run, and event that she has won three consecutive weeks, including at the Texas Tech Open ... the Aggies had three runners, junior Megan McNally, senior Sarabel Bojorquez and senior Carly Porter, finish in the top 10 of the 5,000-meter run .... senior Alishia Perkins and junior Jenna Banegas led the sprinters into El Paso as they both finished in the top 10 in the 200-meter dash at the Texas Tech Open ... this week, the Aggies travel to El Paso, Texas to compete at the UTEP Invitational on Saturday

Seattle University Redhawks
The Redhawks distance runners competed at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival on April 4-5 ... in the women’s 10,000-meter run, Taylor de Laveaga and Lauren Hammerle both posted times faster than the previous school record of 38:04.46, set by Alana Garcia in 2005 ... finishing in 10th place was de Laveaga with a time of 37:17.52, while Hammerle crossed the finish line in 15th place with a mark of 37:48.99 ... Graham Kinzel-Grubbs finished 49th overall in the men’s 10,000 meter run with a time of 32:20.39 ... Baxter Arguinchona finished 12th in his section and 57th overall in the men’s 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:01.33 ... this week, Seattle U will travel to Spokane Falls Community College for the WAR VII meet on Friday and Saturday.

Texas-Pan American Broncs
The Broncs traveled to Corpus Christi, Texas for the Islander Dash on April 5 ... senior Jesus Alvarez won the shot put with a throw of 14.32 meters and then finished in fourth place in the hammer throw with a mark of 47.60 meters ... sophomore Antonio Gonzalez won the high jump at the Islanders Dash after clearing a height of 1.90 meters ... in the women’s 3,000-Meter Steeplechase, Tania Fabian posted a third-place finish with a time of 12:02.1 ... freshman Javier Carretero led the Broncs in the men’s hammer throw with a third-place finish after a throw of 54.96 meters ... the Broncs combined for 18-top-five finishes at the Islanders Dash ... this week, the Broncs will compete at the UIW Cardinal Invitational on Friday in San Antonio.

Utah Valley Wolverines
Utah Valley was off last week ... UVU hosted the UVU Collegiate at the Hal Wing Track & Field on March 29 ... Michael McPherson set a new school record in the 400-meter dash by winning the race in his very first time competing in it with a blazing time of 47.59 second ... Lauren Hicks broke her own record in the triple jump with a leap of 11.88m or (38’-11.75”) to take second in the event ... McPherson added to his already impressive day by also winning the long jump with a mark of 7.05m (23’-01.50”) and taking fifth in javelin a 45.87m (150’-06”) ... in all, Utah Valley won a total of five events on the day and recorded 24 top-three finishes at its lone regular season track meet of the year ... this week, the Wolverines will compete at the Utah Spring Classic on Friday and the Weber State Invitational on Saturday.
