Bakersfield Roadrunners  
Bakersfield competed at the Cal Poly Invitational in San Luis Obispo, Calif. on March 28-29 ... both the men and the women finished the multi-dual meet with losses against Cal Poly and Fresno State, but won against Pepperdine ... senior Justus Mora’s time of 10.90 in the 100-meter dash was good enough for 4th at the meet, but lowered his season best by almost two tenths of a second and came within two-hundredths of his career best time ... in the 200m , Alyssa Page came in second with a time of 24.96 and Marina Emhoff lowered her season’s best time by almost two tenths of a second to 25.59 ... the ‘Runners will take a week off before returning to the track ... Bakersfield will travel to Claremont, Calif. for the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational on Saturday, April 12.

Chicago State Cougars
Chicago State competed at the College of DuPage Invite in Glen Ellyn, Ill. on March 29 ... the Chicago State men earned 66 points to finish in fifth place out of 11 teams ... the women finished fourth out of nine teams with 73 points ... senior Jaya Emerson won the discus (36.38 meters) and the shot put (12.29 meters), and finished second in the hammer throw (41.56 meters) ... sophomore Shaquilla Jackson took second in the 100m with a performance of 12.60 seconds, just 0.02 from a first place finish ... senior Samuel McKinney finished first in the javelin with a toss of 49.45m ... the Chicago State men won the 4x100-meter relay in 43.17 ... this week, the Cougars are off ... CSU will be back in action on April 10-12 at the Chicagoland Outdoor Championships.

Grand Canyon ‘Lopes
Grand Canyon competed at the Aztec Track and Field Invitational on March 28-29 in San Diego, Calif. ... the two-day meet, which was hosted by San Diego State, featured three top-25 teams from both the men’s and women’s USTFCCCA Preseason Poll ... the Antelopes saw five school records fall during the competition, (Jelena Andjelkovic-800-meter run, Kelsi Klotter-5000m, Kelsi Beam-1500m, Vanessa Levy-shot put, Tyler Vandyke-3000m steeplechase) ... Stephan Bullard raced to a second-place finish and conference-best time in the 800m (1:50.86) ... Samantha Bogatz clocked a time of 23.89 seconds in the 200m, a conference-best ... Shavine Hodges took second in the 100m ... Amy Hop and Jennifer Rolph tied for second in the pole vault ... Josh Ralston placed second in the 400m, posting a time of 47.94 seconds ... GCU will travel to Lubbock, Tex., this weekend to compete at the Texas Tech Open on Saturday.

Idaho Vandals  
The University of Idaho track and field team opened up to 2014 outdoor season on Feb. 21-22 with a group of throwers at the Whitworth Buc Scoring Invite at Spokane, Wash. ... freshman Ana Pardo claimed the top spot in the women’s shot put with a heave of 44-2.5 (13.47m) ... senior Andrey Levkiv finished second in the shot put (54-10.75,16.73m) and the discus throw (155-6, 47.41) ... senior Kyle Rothwell led the way for the men in the hammer throw with a second-place heave of 177-0 (53.94m), while junior Alex Taylor followed in ninth with a toss of 135-4 (41.26m) ... freshman Katie Wardsworth placed second in the women’s portion of the hammer throw with a mark of 155-6 (47.40m) ... this Vandals were off last weekend ... the Vandals will be in action this week on Friday and Saturday at the Sam Adams Classic in Spokane, Wash., hosted by Whitworth University.

Kansas City Kangaroos
Kansas City competed at the Bob Cornell Spring Classic in Carbondale, Ill. ... the men finished seventh with 34.5 points and the women finished fifth with 63 points ... Kelly Carpenter led the ‘Roos, winning the 5000m with a personal best time of 17:35.87 ... Bryce Miller placed second in the 3000m steeple chase with a time of 9:23.20, the third best time in school history ... Griffin Humphreys added 1.5 points with a personal best 9:46.60 to place seventh, while freshman Gabrielle Penaflor placed third and Sarah Fogarty finished fourth to earn a combined 14 points for the ‘Roos ... in the men’s 5000m, Dirk Hudson (14:51.52) and James Barnett (14:51.86) recorded the second and third fastest times in school history ... this week, Kansas City will compete at the Emporia Relays on Saturday in Emporia, Kan.

New Mexico State Aggies
The New Mexico State is coming off competition at the Bobcat Invite in San Marcos, Texas ... junior Diana Hawk earned a first-place finish in the 1500-meter run for the second week in a row with a time of 4:34.67, which marks the fastest time in the WAC ... senior Alishia Perkins helped the 4x100-meter relay team finish second with a time of 46.05, and Perkins also finished fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.38 ... junior Tiffany Gerber led the Aggies in the javelin throw with a third-place finish with a distance of 41.86m (137’4”) ... this week, the Aggies will compete at the Texas Tech Open on Saturday.

Seattle University Redhawks
Seattle U was off last week ... in their last action, the Redhawks opened the 2014 outdoor season at the Oregon Preview on Feb. 22 ... Sophie Curatilo broke the school record in the women’s 3000-meter run, posting a time of 9:58.80, over four seconds faster than the previous record set almost six full years ago ... Collin Overbay broke his own school record, set at last year’s meet, finishing 13th overall in the 3000m with a time of 8:30.10 ... Alessandra Gonzales nearly set two more school records of her own in the 100m and 200m, finishing just a couple hundredths of a second off the mark ... SU will be in action again at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival on April 4-5.

Texas-Pan American Broncs
The Broncs split their teams between the 87th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas and the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos, Texas ... senior Martin Casse posted a personal-best time of 4:05.14 in the outdoor mile run at the Texas Relays where he finished in third place ... Casse was the first collegiate runner to finish ... Javier Carretero finished in fourth place in the men’s hammer throw with a distance of 59.40 meters, which is the second longest throw in program history ... Cristina Santiago Bravo finished in fifth in the women’s hammer throw with a throw of 52.16 meters, which is the third longest in program history ... the Broncs are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Corpus Christi, Texas for the Islander Dash.

Utah Valley Wolverines
Utah Valley hosted the UVU Collegiate at the Hal Wing Track & Field on March 29 ... Michael McPherson set a new school record in the 400-meter dash by winning the race in his very first time competing in it with a blazing time of 47.59 second ... Lauren Hicks broke her own record in the triple jump with a leap of 11.88m or (38’-11.75”) to take second in the event ... McPherson added to his already impressive day by also winning the long jump with a mark of 7.05m (23’-01.50”) and taking fifth in javelin a 45.87m (150’-06”) ... in all, Utah Valley won a total of five events on the day and recorded 24 top-three finishes at its lone regular season track meet of the year ... the Wolverines will now be off until April 11 when they’ll head to Salt Lake City to compete at the Utah Spring Classic.
