TEAM RECAPS
Bakersfield Roadrunners  
Bakersfield competed at the Bryon Clay Invitational on April 19 ... the women’s 4 x 400m relay team of Marina Emhoff, Ariana Mariscal, Erica Wilcox, and Alyssa Page put together a great performance with a third-place finish with a time of 3:53.17 ... Gabe Holland reached a distance of 174-08 in the hammer competition which was good enough for second in his flight and 13th overall in a 54-athlete field ... Holland would also improve his season’s best toss in the discus with a distance of 155-06, good enough for third place and the third-best mark in the WAC... in the 400m hurdles, Richard Maestre brought his season-best time down to 54.86 ... this week, the ‘Runners will compete at the Fresno State Bulldog Invitational on Saturday in Fresno, Calif.

Chicago State Cougars
CSU competed at the SIUE Invitational in Edwardsville, Ill. on April 19 ... the men finished 10th and the women placed 13th ... freshman Zhate Jackson was 15th in the 400 meter dash (58.47) and also finished 16th (25.49) in the 200-meter dash ... junior Pearl Chitava, sophomore Brianna Burks, senior Selah Lee and Jackson ran a time of 47.68 in the 4x100 relay, good for fifth place ... junior DeShaunte Lewis set a school record in the 1500m with a time of 3:58.69 to finish 12th ... in the long jump, sophomore Kory Jackson was eighth (6.66 meters) and sophomore Kamerson Jackson was ninth (6.51 meters) ... this week, the Cougars travel to the Drake Relays from Thursday-Saturday.

Grand Canyon ‘Lopes
The Grand Canyon University track and field teams competed at the Mt. SAC Relays and Beach Invitational last week in California….Shavine Hodges ran to a pair of WAC-best times in the 100-meter dash (11.64 seconds) and 200-meter dash (23.71 seconds) at the Mt. SAC Relays ... in Long Beach, Jahliell Wiltshire improved on his conference-best time in the 110-meter hurdles (14.54 seconds) ... Akintunde Adeyemi posted a leap of 14.95 meters in the triple jump, marking the furthest distance in the conference in the event this season ... Tyler Vandyke ran to a first-place finish in the 10,000-meter run (30:43.93) ... Kirk Gould broke a school record in the javelin throw (56.57 meters) ... the Lopes will be idle this weekend before returning to California for the Steve Scott Invitational May 2-3 in Irvine.  

Idaho Vandals  
The Vandals will competed at the CSULA Twilight Open in Los Angeles, Calif., the Whitworth Twilight Invite at Spokane, Wash., and at  the Mt. Sac Relays at Walnut, Calif. last week ... at Mt. Sac, senior Alycia Butterworth finished second in the 3k steeplechase open elite section with a time of 10:14.26 ... her time ranks fourth in the NCAA West Region and 14th in the NCAA so far this season ... senior Holly Stanton Browning crossed the finish line in seventh in the 3k steeplechase open-A section with a career-best time of 10:35.24, while junior Ben Ayesu-Attah finished 10th overall in the 400m open with a time of 47.26 ... at the CSULA Twilight Open, sophomore Santos Vargas crossed the finish line with a first-place time of 9:50.41 in the 3k steeplechase, while senior Andrew Bloom added an individual victory in the 400m with a time of 48.47 ... this week, the Vandals will make the short trip to Pullman, Wash. for the Cougar Invitational on Saturday.

Kansas City Kangaroos
Kansas City competed at the Mt. SAC Relays, the Bryan Clay Invitaional and the Kansas Relays last week ... senior Shanelle Williams broke a second school record in the 100-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 13.88 at the Mt. SAC Relays ... two ‘Roos, otched the second best marks in school history at the Bryan Clay Invitational with freshman Brook Guiot placing eighth in the 800m in a time of 2:12.70, just .76 off the record and freshman Nathan Keown falling just .42 off the mark in the 5,000m, placing fifth in a time of 14:39.66 ... at the Kansas Relays, junior Briana Carter placed sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 40-2, the third best jump in school history ... this week, the ‘Roos travel to the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, from Thursday-Saturday and the Bill Williams/Bob Laptad Invite in Joplin, Mo. on Friday.

New Mexico State Aggies
The Aggies traveled to San Antonio, Texas to compete at the UTSA Invitational on April 19 ... the highlight of the meet was junior Diana Hawk winning the 3000-meter run with a time of 9:49.03, which was also just three seconds off the all-time record for the Aggies ... this marked the fifth consecutive week that Hawk has won an event as she won the 1500m in the previous four meets ... senior Gael Sanchez also took home a first-place finish in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 11:26.68 ... in the field events, the Aggies were led by junior Tiffany Gerber, who earned a second-place finish in the javelin throw with a distance of 40.70m (133’6”) ... this week, the Aggies traveled to Houston, Texas to compete at the Fred Duckett Twilight on Saturday.

Seattle University Redhawks
The Redhawks travelled to the Mt. Sac Relays, the Bryan Clay Invitational, the Oregon Relays and the Beach Invitational last week ... at the Beach Invitational, Candice de Sauvage finished second in her heat and 29th overall in the 400 meter dash in 57.33 seconds, just 7/100ths of a second off the school record ... Shaddye Melu finished second in his flight and fourth overall in the high jump after clearing 2.05 meters (6’ 8.75”), tying his season best in the event ... at the Mt. SAC Relays, Dylan Burnett continued to improve on his season-best mark in the javelin throw, finishing third in his flight and fifth overall after posting a throw of 66.80 meters (219’ 2”) ... in the men’s 400 meter dash, Melu and Austin Thummel-Gravitt finished 1-2 in their heat ... this week, the Redhawks are at the WWU Ralph Vernacchia Meet on Saturday in Bellingham, Wash.

Texas-Pan American Broncs
The Broncs competed at the Cal State LA Twilight Open, the Mount Sac Relays and the Long Beach State Invite last week ... Martin Casse was named WAC Track and Field Athlete of the Week after winning the 1,500-meter run last with a time of 3:44.92, the second fastest in program history, at the Mt. Sac Relays ... Casse also posted a 12th place finish in the 800m at the Beach Invitational with a time of 1:51.49 ... junior Deandra Barroso posted a third place finish in the 400m hurdles at the Beach Invitational with a career-best time of 1:00.42, which ranks second in program history ... freshman Cristina Santiago Bravo hit a season-high mark of 54.29 meters in the women’s hammer throw at the Mt. Sac Relays ... the Broncs are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Houston, Texas for the Fred Duckett Twilight, hosted by Rice University.

Utah Valley Wolverines
The Wolverines competed at the Mt. SAC Relays, the Bryan Clay Invite and the Beach Invite last week ... Michael McPherson set a new school record in the decathlon with a score of 7,271 while earning second place at the Mt. Sac Relays ... at the Beach Invitational, Ali Shields led for the Wolverine women by taking third in her heat and 16th overall in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.64 seconds, while Logan Rusch led the men with a 20th-place finish in 200m dash (21.98) ... Trac Norris recorded a second-place finish in the men’s 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:02.67 while Ivie Gonsalves put up a time of 17:01.59 in the women’s 5000m run ... this week, the Wolverines will make the short trip to Provo, Utah for the BYU Robison Invitational from Wednesday-Saturday.
