Las Cruces, N.M. - The Idaho Vandals claimed the men's title at the WAC Tennis Tournament with a thrilling 4-3 victory over No. 1 New Mexico State. On the Aggies home court, Idaho and the Aggies traded blows during singles play, which took place first due to high winds in the area, finishing tied 3-3. The doubles point became the focus of the championship, and after splitting at the No. 1 and No. 2 position, Idaho's Cesar Torres & Artemiy Nikitin outlasted Strahinja Trecakov and Liam Goldberg, 8-6, on the No. 3 court to secure the title.
The Vandals move on to the NCAA Tournament and will learn their fate on Tuesday during the selection show. This is Idaho's fist men's tennis championship in the WAC.
