DENVER – Kansas City’s Bryce Miller and Idaho’s Andrey Levkiv have been named the Western Athletic Conference men’s track and field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for April 21-27.
Miller, a freshman from Ashland, Wis. (Ashland HS), broke his own school record in the 3,000-meter steeple chase while placing fifth at the Drake Relays. His time of 9:01.37 stands as the fastest time in the WAC this season, 38th in the west region and 73rd in the NCAA.
Levkiv, a senior from Renton, Wash (Hazen HS), improved his WAC-leading mark in the shot put at the Cougar Invitational. Levkiv's first-place mark of 17.41m also ranks 32nd in the NCAA west region and 74th in the NCAA so far this season. He also finished third in the discus with a heave of 44.35m.
