Grand Forks, N.D.-(GCU Media Relations) The Grand Canyon University baseball team (26-20, 15-7 WAC) opened their final Western Athletic Conference road series with a 3-1 win over North Dakota (10-24, 8-11 WAC) today at Kraft Memorial Field in Grand Forks, N.D.
Starter Andrew Naderer tossed his first complete game of the season, allowing just a run on seven hits and three walks with seven strikeouts. It was the seventh time this season that Naderer has allowed three or fewer runs while tossing at least 7.0 innings. It was the fourth straight win for Naderer, who improved to 8-3 on the season.

Bakersfield 13, New Mexico State 1 (7)
BAKERSFIELD, Calif-(CSUB Media Relations) A day after head coach Bill Kernen announced his retirement upon the conclusion of the 2014 season, Taylor Aikenhead (Sr., Lancaster, Calif., Bakersfield College) tossed a three-hitter as Bakersfield (22-27, 13-9 WAC) defeated New Mexico State (18-26, 9-10 WAC) 13-1 Friday night.
After hitting Michael Medina, the first batter of the game, the 6-0 lefty set down the next 15 Aggies he faced before Kent Blackstone led off the sixth with a single to right center. Aikenhead gave up the lone Aggies' run in the top of the seventh. Aikenhead struck out five while walking only one.

Northern Colorado 9, Chicago State 7
CHICAGO –(UNC Media Relations) Northern Colorado Baseball overcame an early 5-0 deficit to take the lead in the late innings of a 9-7 win against Chicago State Friday.
The Bears tied the game at 6 after timely home runs from Jensen Park (Kaneohe, Hawaii) and Ben Netzel (Loveland) in the sixth inning, and after the Cougars (15-33, 3-16 WAC) took a 7-6 lead in the bottom half of the seventh, Park hit a three-run inside-the-park home run in the eighth inning to give the Bears (8-40, 2-20 WAC) the lead for good.

Seattle U 10, Utah Valley 9
OREM, Utah –(SU Media Relations) After letting an early lead slip away in the middle innings, Seattle University rallied with single runs in each of the final three innings and held on for a 10-9 victory over Utah Valley University Friday night in a Western Athletic Conference collegiate baseball game at Brent Brown Ballpark.
Down 9-7, Seattle U started its comeback in the seventh inning when Cullen Hendrickson (Auburn, Wash.) was hit by a pitch, advanced to second on a wild pitch, and scored on a single to left field by Brock Carpenter (Milton, Wash.). In the eighth inning, pinch hitter Colin Peterson (Bellingham, Wash.) led off with an infield single, advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from Chase Fields (Ontario, Ore.), and came around to score on a double to left field by Michael McCann (Vancouver, Wash.), tying the game at 9-9.
