Albany 4, Utah Valley 3
The Wolverines' season came to an end Saturday with a 4-3 loss to Albany in an elimination game at the Eugene Regional.
Utah Valley got back-to-back doubles from Amanda Robinson and Debra Lovell in the top of the first to put the Wolverines up 1-0. Albany answered in the bottom of the frame with a two-run homer to take the lead. The Danes added two more runs in the bottom of the second to take a 4-1 lead.
Briana Gatlin led off the fifth with a solo homer and Brittney Vansway homered in the seventh to bring the Wolverines within one, but that was as close as Utah Valley would get in the loss.
Josi Summers suffered the loss to close the season 10-19. She allowed three runs on three hits over 1.1 innings. Bailey Moore threw 4.2 innings, giving up one run on three hits. She struck out two and walked two.
