BAKERSFIELD, Calif.-(CSUB Media Relations) Junior Hayden Carter (San Diego, Calif., Vista HS) tossed his first career complete game as Bakersfield (21-27) defeated Fresno State (25-25) 6-3 Wednesday night at Hardt Field. The 5-11 righty got 15 ground ball outs as he needed 120 pitches (75 for strikes) to earn the victory.
Taylor Ward gave the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when his sac fly plated Trent Woodward. Soloman Williams (Jr., Long Beach, Calif., Golden West College) responded in the bottom of the inning with a two-RBI single for a 'Runner lead.

North Dakota 3, North Dakota State 2
GRAND FORKS, N.D.-(UND Media Relations) North Dakota got a pair of homeruns and made them hold up, defeating North Dakota State, 3-2, Wednesday evening at Kraft Field. The win gave UND a season sweep over the Bison as North Dakota went 6-0 combined among all varsity sports against its in-state rival (soccer, volleyball, women's and men's basketball and baseball).
UND (10-23) got solid outings from its bullpen in the win with three pitchers combining to go 4.2 innings of scoreless baseball enabling the one-run advantage to be enough. Both UND-NDSU matchups this season featured early Bison leads followed by UND rallies to claim victory.
