Chicago State 4, Arkansas-Pine Bluff 1

PINE BLUFF, Ark. - Chicago State scored three goals in the first half and added another in the second to defeat the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff 4-1 with the match being call due to darkness with 13:22 remaining in the contest.

A soccer match is ruled an official match once the contest has reach the 75:00 mark of play.

Chicago State was paced by Jylian Coggins as she scored two goals for the Cougars, while finishing the contest with three shots on goal. In addition, both Sara Marcotte and Tyler Ross scored goals each for the Cougars, while their goalkeeper Carrie Hepp recorded three saves in the contest.

Coggins gave Chicago State, 1-0 lead as she scored her first goal of the game with 24:05 left in the first period. Ross added to the Cougars lead as she made the score 2-0 with her goal with 40:21 mark of the first period.

Chicago State would take a 3-0 lead into the break as Sara Chist Marcotte scored the Cougars third goal of the contest at the 41:53 mark.
UAPB drew first blood in the second period as Young scored at the 48:47 mark of the half.

Coggins scored the Cougars final goal of the contest with at the 60:17 mark of the period for the 4-1 finally.

Chicago State continues play on Aug. 29 when the Cougars host North Dakota in their first-ever home women's soccer match in program history.
