OREM, Utah -(UVU Media Relations) Kim Stratford's goal in the 84th minute sent Utah Valley University to a 2-1 win over Baylor University in the 2014 home opener on Friday night at Clyde Field. The win came in front a school record crowd of 1,355 fans.
Stratford's goal, with 6:09 remaining, came just inside the top of the 18 on assists from Sarah Cipperley and Sydney Fitzpatrick. The senior midfielder fired the shot with her right foot and the ball found the back of the net after deflecting off Baylor goalkeeper Michelle Kloss' gloves.

GRAMBLING, La. –(UTPA Media Relations) The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs women's soccer team is the first team in school history to be undefeated through its four matches at the NCAA Division I level after beating the Grambling State University Tigers 4-0 on Friday at Eddie Robinson Stadium.
The Broncs men's tennis team set the previous school record, going undefeated through its first three matches in 1965-66.

Phoenix, Ariz.-(GCU Media Relations) The Grand Canyon University women's soccer team (0-2-1) battled to a 1-1 tie with Valparaiso (0-1-2) in the Antelopes home opener Friday at GCU Soccer Field. Grand Canyon will be off until next Friday when they host South Dakota.
"Another very good performance by the girls," said head coach Stevie Gill. "We fought exceptionally hard this evening. It was a tough battle right to the final whistle."
Freshman keeper Blakely Fraasch was sharp in the first 45 minutes of action, making four saves in her third career start in goal.

Tulsa, Okla. -(UMKC Media Relations) UMKC goalkeeper Nina Tzianos fought off a flurry of Oral Roberts attempts to salvage a 1-1 tie in a double-overtime match at Case Soccer Complex on Friday.
Freshman forward Kara Priest struck early for the 'Roos (1-1-1), polishing off the game's opening goal in the ninth minute off of a cross from Ellie Chadick. The goal was Priest's second in three games this season.
On the other end, the Golden Eagles (0-2-1) were firing shots at an astonishing rate, outshooting the 'Roos 10-4 in the first half and 15-4 in the second half. Unfortunately for the hosts, there were two variables inhibiting their success: inaccuracy and Tzianos.

CHICAGO –(CSU Media Relations) Continuing its season full of firsts, the Chicago State University women's soccer team made history once again Friday afternoon by hosting North Dakota in its first-ever home game as a program at the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Stadium. The Cougars christened Kroc Stadium as their home field in a pre-game ceremony before the visitors claimed a 3-0 victory.
Both teams battled each other tough for the game's opening 37 minutes until North Dakota claimed a 1-0 lead in the 38th minute when freshman Austin Overson hit the back of the net with a header off sophomore Kirsten Olson's corner kick.

SACRAMENTO, Calif.—(CSUB Media Relations) Kassidy Kellogg’s goal with 5:19 remaining gave Sacramento State a 2-1 victory over Bakersfield (0-3) in women’s soccer action Friday night.
The Hornets (2-1) scored with seven seconds remaining in the first half to take the lead. Kassi Anast took a lob pass from Lydia Bowman and finished past the left side of ‘Runner keeper Tori Ornela (R-Jr., Lemoore, Calif., Lemoore HS).
