LAWRENCE, Kan. - (UMKC Media Relations) The Missouri-Kansas City volleyball team (4-3) gave No. 24 Kansas (6-1) all it could handle, but in the end was unable to pull off the upset, falling 3-1 at the Horejsi Center on Tuesday night.
Emma Hagedorn led the ‘Roo attack with 12 kills, hitting .500 with six of the team's 12 blocks, while Jessica Hendin added 11 kills and eight digs.
Defensively, the ‘Roos out-blocked KU 12-4 and hit .186 as a team, with Taryn Miller addding a team-high 22 digs and Kaylyn Brandt recording her team-best fifth double-double of the year with 17 assists and 11 digs.

Utah 3, Utah Valley 0 (25-22, 26-24, 25-23)
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Despite playing the undefeated Utes tough all night long, the Utah Valley University volleyball team fell in straight sets to Utah on Tuesday night at Crimson Court (25-22, 26-24, 25-23).
“We battled hard and focused on the importance of competing tonight, and I felt like we really did that,†said UVU head coach Sam Atoa. “We gave ourselves chances in all three sets, which could've gone either way, but unfortunately for us we were not the better team in the final two points. Overall, I was pleased with how we competed but we need to be more consistent.â€
Sophomore Macky Treanor led the Wolverines (1-7) in the in-state contest with 10 kills and a .350 attack percentage while junior Lauren Bakker chipped in six kills and a pair of blocks. Senior Cassie Wahlin and freshman Madison Wolford also hit well on the night for UVU as they put up respective hitting percentages of .667 and .500.
