Incarnate Word 2, Oakland 1 (OT)
Recap | Stats

The University of the Incarnate Word men's soccer team earned their first win of the new season on Saturday with a 2-1 victory over Oakland University. Noah Keats (Exeter, Englad/The King's School) scored the game winning goal in the first period of over time. In their homecoming game, the Golden Grizzlies (0-5) were the first to add to the score sheet from a penalty kick taken by junior forward Gerald Ben. A UIW foul in the box in the 37th minute gave Oakland the opportunity they needed to take the lead, with Ben recording his first goal of the season.

Drake 1, Missouri-Kansas City 0
Recap | Stats

UMKC controlled most of the ball and had most of the chances on Saturday afternoon at Durwood Stadium, but a late Drake goal proved to be the difference in a 1-0 loss. The ‘Roos (1-4-1) jumped out with several early opportunities, including a pair from senior forward Jordan Rideout. His first came in the fourth minute on a through ball into the box, but his rocket attempt sailed just wide on the near post. He had another chance in the 21st minute when senior Tato Chiaparro put a cross in that saw Rideout open on the six yard box, but the header attempt was saved by DU (2-4-1) goalkeeper Darrin MacLeod.
