Bakersfield 5, Sacramento State 0

Bakersfield wrapped up non-conference men’s soccer play by defeating Sacramento State 5-0 Sunday afternoon at the Main Soccer Field. Joe Masumiya’s (R-Sr., Lakewood, Calif., Lakewood HS) penalty kick in the 40th minute gave the Roadrunners (6-2-1) a 1-0 lead heading into overtime. Bakersfield put the game away with three goals in a 12-minute span in the second half.


UNLV 2, UC Riverside 0

Freshman forward Danny Musovski scored just minutes into the game and UNLV added a second half score to claim a 2-0 victory over UC Riverside in men's college soccer action on Sunday afternoon at Peter Johann Memorial Field. The win, coming in the final game of the Rebel Classic, improved UNLV to 6-2-1 in its final non-conference action. The six wins are the most for UNLV in non-conference play since the the 2009 squad went 6-2-2.


Seattle U 1, Gonzaga 0

Seattle University men’s soccer (5-3-0) went into halftime with a scoreless tie versus Gonzaga (1-7-0) but Jonathan Massimino (San Ramon, Calif.) entered in the second half to score the game-winner as SU defeated GU, 1-0.


UC Irvine 2, Utah Valley 1 (2OT)

Utah Valley University’s upset bid of No. 4 UC Irvine was thwarted in a 2-1 double-overtime loss on Sunday at the UNLV Rebel Classic. It was the final non-conference game of the season for the Wolverines (4-3-0), who will now open their first Western Athletic Conference season on Saturday at home against defending regular season and tournament champion Seattle University.


San Francisco 3, San Jose State 0

Starting from the kickoff, the San Jose State men’s soccer team felt the pressure from the San Francisco Dons and dropped its non-conference finale 0-3 on Sunday afternoon on Spartan Soccer Field. San Francisco (5-2-1) out shot the Spartans in the first half, 11-to-5, and got on the board in the 18th minute. The goal came from Davi Ramos after he took a cross from Manny Padilla and tucked it inside the right post for a 1-0 USF.


CS Fullerton 1, Grand Canyon 0

The Cal State Fullerton men's soccer team (4-3-2) scored nearly three minutes into the game and that goal proved to be enough to defeat Grand Canyon (2-5-1) tonight on GCU Soccer Field in Phoenix, Ariz. The Antelopes kept pressure on the Titans defense, putting three shots on goal, but were unable to find the back of the net.
