Texas-Pan American 3, Prairie View A&M 1

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – (UTPA Media Relations) Freshman Andreya Barrera scored two goals to help the University of Texas-Pan American Broncs women's soccer team remain undefeated through the first six matches in program history with a 3-1 win against the Prairie View A&M Panthers on Friday at Lady Panthers Field.
 
The Broncs (4-0-2) are just the third NCAA Division I women's soccer team out of 22 in the history of Texas to be undefeated through their first six matches at the DI level, joining Baylor (5-0-1 in 1996) and Abilene Christian (5-0-1 in 2013).

Seattle U 4, Eastern Washington 1

SEATTLE – (SU Media Relations) Seattle University women’s soccer (3-2-0) trailed early in the contest to Eastern Washington (2-2-0), but an early second half surge proved to be a difference maker as the Redhawks earned a 4-1 win in the non-conference competition.

“We made a couple adjustments at half and I think the big thing was we played a complete 90 minutes of soccer,” said head coach Julie Woodward. “They scored a great goal but then we responded well in the first half by getting one back to keep it tied at halftime. I saw some really good things soccer-wise; they executed our halftime plan really well and made a commitment to attacking and getting forward. I was very pleased with how we responded.”

Missouri-Kansas City 4, Eastern Illinois 1

CHARLESTON, Ill. – (UMKC Media Relations) UMKC scored three second half goals, rallying from a 1-0 deficit to hammer Eastern Illinois 4-1 on Friday afternoon in Charleston.

Goalkeeper Nina Tzianos, for her part, was up to the challenge once more, making four saves – three off of Meagan Radloff shots, alone – to silence the Panthers following the opening goal of the match.

Utah Valley 3, Wyoming 0

OREM, Utah – (UVU Media Relations) Kali Stubbs scored twice and Sara Callister added her first career goal as Utah Valley University scored a 3-0 win over Wyoming on Friday at Clyde Field in front of 885 fans.

With the win the Wolverines (2-2-1) remain unbeaten at home thru three matches this season.

The shutout for Utah Valley and goalkeeper Jessica Duffin is the team’s first of the season. Duffin had three saves including one in the final second of the match to preserve the shutout.

Northern Iowa 0, Bakersfield 0 (2OT)

BAKERSFIELD, Calif – (CSUB Media Relations) Bakersfield and Northern Iowa played a 1-1 tie in women’s soccer action Friday night at the Main Soccer Field.

Taylor French (Sr., Monrovia, Calif., Maranatha HS) connected on a free kick from 35 yards out at 43:52 of the first half to give Bakersfield a 1-0 advantage. The Panthers tied the score in the 63rd minute when Charlotte Jones’ sent a corner kick toward the CSUB goal. The ball was deflected by a ‘Runner defender to Caitlyn Fuller who scored from right in front the net.

South Dakota 3, Grand Canyon 1

PHOENIX, Ariz. – (GCU Media Relations) The South Dakota (4-1) women's soccer team scored three unanswered second half goals to top Grand Canyon (0-3-1), 3-1, Friday night at GCU Soccer Field. The Antelopes got on the board first in the 67th minute, but the Coyotes scored three goals before the final horn to secure their fourth win of the season.

"After scoring a fantastic goal, we stopped playing," said head coach Stevie Gill. "We made a couple of mistakes at the back that cost us the game."

Creighton 6, New Mexico State 0

OMAHA – (NM State Media Relations) The New Mexico State soccer team dropped a 6-0 decision at Creighton Friday afternoon at Morrison Stadium.

NM State falls to 1-5-0 and Creighton improves to 4-0-0.

The Bluejays outshot the Aggies 20-6 and by a 10-3 margin in each half. Senior Layla Todd recorded three shots on goal.
