OMAHA, Neb. – Katie Smith and Layla Todd each netted their first goal of the 2014 season, however, New Mexico State couldn’t overcome Nebraska-Omaha’s fast start and dropped a 6-2 decision Sunday afternoon at Caniglia Field.
Chelsi Rohloff scored at 13:59 in the first half to open the scoring. 15 minutes later Anna Sibson found the back of the net and Courtney Neville scored moments before halftime to give the Mavericks a 3-0 halftime lead.

Edwardsville, Ill. – Lilly Cobb made the most of what amounted to a personal homecoming of sorts, scoring her first collegiate goal to lead UMKC to a 1-1 double-overtime draw with SIUE on Sunday afternoon.
The Edwardsville (Ill.) High School alum put the visitors on the board in the 19th minute, receiving a through ball from Kaely Tott and beating the goalkeeper one-on-one to give the Kangaroos an early 1-0 advantage.

LONG BEACH, Calif.—No. 23 Long Beach State (3-1-2) defeated Bakersfield 2-0 Sunday in women’s soccer action at George Allen Field.
Ashley Gonzales scored both goals. Gonzales hit the back of the Roadrunner net in the 23rd and 83rd minutes. The 49ers outshot the ‘Runners (0-5-1) 18-4, 10-2 on goal. CSUB goalie Tori Ornela (R-Jr., Lemoore, Calif., Lemoore HS) recorded eight saves.
