DENVER - CSU Bakersfield's Haley Vicente and Seattle U's Kelly Beck have been named Western Athletic Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for the week of Oct. 5-11.

Vicente, a freshman from Las Vegas, Nev. (Arbor View HS), scored five goals and totaled 10 points in two games. She tied a WAC record for the most goals in a conference game with four vs. Chicago State, doing all of her damage in just 28 minutes of action. The four goals and eight points both tied CSUB all-time school records, and are tied for the top marks in the WAC this season. Vicente had not scored a goal in her career until the first match of the week, but opened her account against UMKC with a goal off a corner kick, and is now second on the ‘Runners in goals scored this season.

Beck, a senior defender from Tacoma, Wash. (Bellarmine Prep), led the Seattle U backline to its seventh and eighth shutouts of the season. The Redhawks have now recorded seven shutouts in their last eight games. Under her leadership, the Redhawks allowed just four shots on goal, and just eight shots total, in two victories on the weekend. Beck also contributed on the offensive end, scoring her first goal of the season in the win over UT Rio Grande Valley. This is Beck's second-consecutive WAC Defensive Player of the Week honor.
