Seattle U's Paige Treff and CSU Bakersfield's Carlee Burks have been named Women's Western Athletic Conference Swimmer and Diver of the week, respectively, for Oct. 12-18. This is Burks second honor this season.

Treff, a sophomore from Orland Calif. played a significant role in Seattle University's dual meet victories over Simon Fraser and Northern Colorado last Thursday. First, Treff anchored the victorious 400 medley relay, posting a 100 freestyle split of 53.37 seconds, fastest among all the anchor legs, to help post the eighth-fastest 400 medley relay time in program history at 3:56.84. She blazed to victory in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.18 seconds, over 6/10ths of a second quicker than her nearest competitor. She led off the 200 freestyle relay with a 50 freestyle split of 24.43 seconds, fastest among any of the 20 swimmers that competed in the event, helping the Redhawks clinch their meet victories with a first place finish in 1:39.11, the 10th-best time in program history in the event.

Burks, a junior from Bakersfield, earned a win in the Malibu Invitational's only diving event of the weekend. In an uncommon format, Burks posted a score of 310.00 in a six-dive competition featuring dives on both the 1- and 3-meter boards.

North Dakota's Jacob Wielinski and CSU Bakersfield's Tyler Greenwald have been named Men's Western Athletic Conference Swimmer and Diver of the week, respectively, for Oct. 12-18. This is Wielinski's second honor this season.

Wielinski, a freshman from Moundsview, Minn. (Irondale HS) continued his impressive start to his collegiate career with three individual wins. He easily outdistanced the competition with a 9:25.87 time in the 1,000 free, a 4:36.84 showing in the 500 free and a winning 1:57.05 time in the 200 IM.

Greenwald, a junior from Henderson, Nev., earned a win in the Malibu Invitational's only diving event of the weekend. In an uncommon format, Greenwald posted a score of 296.15 in a six-dive competition featuring dives on both the 1- and 3-meter boards.

CSU Bakersfield
The Roadrunner men earned first-place finishes in six individual events as well as the men's 300 free relay. Freshmen Greg Lee and Justice Kramer earned their first individual wins in the 200 breast and 50 back, respectively. The Roadrunner women got wins out of Paola Hernandez, who won four heats and three events on Saturday, as well as Dylana Milobar who won the 50 breast. CSUB's women also took the 300 free relay.

Northern Colorado
The team defeated Nebraska-Omaha (186-114) and Simon Fraser (112.5-92.5), and only lost to Seattle (105-100).

North Dakota
UND defeated South Dakota State on Saturday, 215-85, to move to a 3-0 dual record this season. UND has now won 11 consecutive home-duals and have a 15-5 dual record in the past two seasons.

Seattle U
The Seattle University women opened the 2015-16 season with dual meet victories over Simon Fraser (112-93) and Northern Colorado (105-100) last Thursday at the Connolly Center Pool. The win over Northern Colorado was Seattle U's first dual-meet victory over a fellow Western Athletic Conference school since the Redhawks joined the league in the fall of 2012. The Seattle University men fell in its season-opening dual meet to Simon Fraser, 132-72, last Thursday night at the Connolly Center. The Redhawks won just two of the 11 events, with Tanner Schelling picking up both victories, touching the wall first in the 50 freestyle (21.38) and 100 breaststroke.

WAC CHAMPIONSHIP
The 2015 WAC Swimming and Diving Championship travels to Houston, Texas. The UNLV men's swim team captured the WAC title while the Northern Arizona women's team took the crown at the WAC championships last year.
