OREM, Utah -- Utah Valley University received an at-large bid to the 2015 NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament and travels to No. 7 SMU for a matchup on Thursday in Dallas in the opening round.
The Wolverines (14-5-2) earned the bid in just the program's second season and also become the first athletic program from UVU to earn a team at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament.
"Today was another historic moment for our young program, and I could not be more proud and happy for these young men," said head coach Greg Maas. "SMU has a rich soccer history, and we are looking forward to a great match in Dallas."
SMU is 13-2-4 out of the American Athletic Conference and the conference's regular season champion. The Mustangs played eventual tournament champion Tulsa to a 2-2 draw in the AAC semifinal, but failed to advance, losing on penalty kicks.
